When you think of snowboarding, more often than not, Burton is the first brand that comes to mind. The most popular brand in the world was made that way by one man: Jake Burton. His vision to make what was once thought of as a passing fad into the most popular extreme sport in the world was really incredible. The odds he overcame, from ski resorts not allowing snowboarders to cancer, are a real testament to his dedication and passion to pushing this sport, and lifestyle, to what it is today. In this paper I will discuss how he turned a wooden plank into an almost $1 billion a year company.
The endangered black-footed ferret is a member of the weasel family. It is the only ferret native to North America—the domestic ferret is a different species of European origin. Black-footed ferrets once numbered in the tens of thousands, but were brought to the brink of extinction by the 1960s. Although still endangered, they are starting to make a comeback, and Defenders of Wildlife is pleased to be helping achieve this remarkable wildlife success story.

Like tigers, snow leopards tend to be solitary animals and are apex predators. Their niche in the wild includes ambushing their prey for their meals, however, these cats are not as big as lions or tigers, so their prey tend to be on the smaller size. Examples of what they usually hunt would be sheep’s, boars, deer’s, and rodents. Snow leopards are usually found in mountain areas, their range is specifically near Central Asia to the Himalayas. These cats also travel as high as 18,400 feet which is a bit more than the half way mark in comparison to the height of Mount Everest. With the ability to thrive in great heights in the mountain, this increases their chances to find more prey, however, most of the time harsh conditions force the snow leopards back down to the forests. In order to keep a healthy population, snow leopards usually take up to thirty eight square miles as his/her territory.

One snowy Christmas day in Muskegon, Michigan, a young girl by the name of Wendy Poppen tried to stand up on her sled while sliding down the hill. Seeing this, her father Sherman ran into the garage and bolted a pair of skies together with wood to ""act as foot stops"" (Crane). While watching Wendy use the contraption, some of the local kids ran up to Sherman and asked him to build one for each of them. Little did he know that he had given birth to the “fastest growing winter sport” (Prosl) known as snowboarding. The history, simplicity, and rate of growth of snowboarding took the sport from being completely banned from ski resorts, to being accepted worldwide with its Olympic debut in 1998.
I work in a lab, a billion miles away from anyone, way out in Alaska. What do I do, you may ask? Well I try and help animals survive by giving them abilities that will help them thrive on their own out in the wild. My latest project has been on the Arctic Fox. These foxes populations is not exactly on the rise, because hunters and bigger prey have been picking them off. So I am bringing a few into the lab to try and get them to have bigger teeth, bigger claws, and most of all a bigger appetite. Now some may ask how I am I going to change them, well I am making a series of potions that enhance abilities. I have made quite a few, but there was one potion that was unstable and unpredictable.
The brand originally was used by park rangers and officers in the north that needed the durability of a proper outerwear. The key design of the infamous niche product, the Parka, features a coyote fur hood that has natural windbreak elements and a down filling made from the softest and warmest part of a quill. What sparked the interest of consumers is the concept of warmth without the bulk due to the major demographics of buyers are in cold climates like Canada. However, these elements aren’t only the key ingredients that makes Canada Goose have a more competitive advantage over competitors, it’s the value that goes into the production of their products. Each product has an element of consistency of quality meaning that each one made is up to high Canada Goose standards. Because Canada Goose has established themselves as a brand with high end, reliable production of quality within their products, they will carry this core business model with them if they create athleisure wear. Their gained trust from current shoppers who already wear the brand will cause repeat customers once they launch new product and will also gain attraction from a new market segment. Therefore, it will have a high impact in terms of their future sales and the probability of it occurring will also be

Just as Snuggie had hoped, deals with Walmart, Walgreens, and other brands brought back the Snuggie craze just as it had begun to decrease in popularity. Customers came pouring into stores hoping to get their hands on the blanket with sleeves. With holidays approaching and larger orders being made by companies, AllStar Products was extremely profitable. Millions of dollars were being shipped out and millions were being put back into the company’s wallet. One effect of this new distribution was the global deals that came. From a product that was estimated to not even sell out its base run, to an overnight sensation the Snuggie had been limited to US and on a smaller scale, Canada sales.
