With the lack of information of the time period, I was curious about the Holocaust, concentration camp, WWII, and Anne Frank and I wanted to know more, not just about the limited information that the diary gave me. If they didn’t, Nazis will start searching for them, then kill them. This reflects how Jews, and also the other types of people Nazis were discriminating against, had to live in the dark, and showed how the society was unfair. She expressed her feelings and thoughts in her diary, including what she thought of her family and other four people, who she liked, who she missed, who her friends were, how her personality changed from outgoing into not interested in anything or rebellious. She spent most of her time in the cabin by studying, reading and writing the diary. It didn’t include much information nor detail about the time period when the diary was written, which was during the WWII and the Holocaust. And also, the story was only from the narrator’s point of view. The narrator was living in the secret cabin, and didn’t dare to make any sound, nor open the curtain. This is because during the Holocaust, Nazis tortured Jews. Because of the fact that they were always in the secret cabin, that means they do not get all information of the outside world. On August 4, 1944, at least three German polices went into their secret cabin, and all eight people were arrested. The Secret Annex is the proof that Nazis tortured and killed Jews during the Holocaust, which is one of the reasons why this diary that a 13 to 15-year-old girl wrote was translated into 67 different languages and is one of the most widely read accounts of the Holocaust. After the Holocaust ended, Otto Frank was the only survivor of the eight people, then published The Secret Annex. Anne Frank
