Anne Frank Argument

228 Words1 Page

Have you ever wanted to be more than just average? Anne Frank was not like most other girls in her time. They were expected to marry young and focus on serving their husbands’ as a good housewife. Anne was not content with this kind of life. She said she would rather slit her throat and open her veins than live solely to please another person. Anne had dreams of being a famous writer, someone important.

Anne argues with Mr. Van Daan about the role of a woman. He thinks like other men in that time that women should simply focus on being a good housewife and thinks Anne will get nowhere in life with her thoughts. Anne believed that she could be more than what society expected of her. I think Anne is completely justified in her argument.
