Wasting of Animal Lives
The problem with animal experimentation is that in order for things like cosmetics and certain medicines to be approved they must be tested thoroughly, and human testing is not one of those options. The only other option is to test certain products on animals like mice, dogs and cats. Animal testing can be a cruel and unfair way to assure that that makeup and other products are safe for human use.Animal experimentation has become a large area of controversy, because although it has increased the amount of innovation in the medical field it has also caused many people to wonder whether the animals that are used are treated justly. It is important that people stand up for fair and uncruel experimentation on innocent organisms.
In the 1980’s an American interest group formed who is known by the name PETA, this group embarked on the the mission to assure animals all over the country a safe and uncruel life. The name PETA stands for “People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals” and although people naturally hate to see starving dogs, or dying mice they also really love their makeup. Some doctors and scientist say that when in the testing phase of an experiment it is best to have hands on experiments, meaning that test are made on living, tangible animals in the lab. And although using real animals can seem like the simplest and most efficient way to test products, the contrary is true. Through many advancements in technology and research there are now plenty of other ways that testing can happen.
