The Animal Farm book and movie both tell a compelling story of the misuse of power by both animals and humans and the corruption that leads to betrayal and heartbreak. The book draws a reader in by getting up close and personal with each character and how they feel about the differences in leadership. The cartoon version of the story makes the message seem a lot less serious than it did in the book. Both the book and the movie do a good job of relaying the story so that readers and watchers know that it is about Soviet Russia under the control of Joseph Stalin. The book and the movie are similar but different in many ways including the main idea, the theme, the characters, Snowball, Napoleon, and Boxer and the song Beasts of England. The underlying moral of the book and the movie is that power can lead to corruption. Everyone might have the same intentions, but its never gonna turn out the way you imagine it to. Every revolution needs a leader, and that leader might not turn out to be the person you thought they were. With a leader comes a government, and that government can misuse their power over everything. The song that they sing in the movie is just all the animals yelling out, not saying actual words. The lyrics of the song in the book is a lot about their rebellion and how they are going to have a world without man kind. The song represents all the animals coming together for their freedom against Mr. Jones. It was the first time they felt powerful enough to take over Mr. Jones’ farm and have their own democracy. Later in the book, the animals were no longer allowed to sing the Beasts of England because the song represented what it use to be like when Mr. Jones was their leader.
