This is to emphasise the action that is taking place due to the close-up shots that are used on each part of the scene. The fact that the scene is frozen, mid-action allows the watcher to analyse each small element of the scene, including the tiny bullets being fired. The canted angle that is coupled with this panning enforces the fact that the scene is totally unrealistic due to the amount of things going on at once. Deadpool is regularly seen using bad language that will entertain the watcher. There are many examples of this throughout the film which include “Ha! You’re about to be killed by a Zamboni!” and “I’m just a bad guy who gets paid to f*ck up worse guys.” These two quotations from Deadpool definitely do not match the dialogue that would be said by the regular superhero. The typical superhero you would expect would maybe say an inspirational quote, however this is not the case with Deadpool. His quotations add an inappropriate and comedic aspect to the film that many watchers would want to see. Another set of quotes include “I’m touching myself tonight” and “Two hobos f*cking.” These quotes link to sexual connotations and to a film that would not be classed as a superhero movie, however the certification of the film (15) shows that this may be expected. Through the use of direct address, the breaking of the fourth wall can be seen many times throughout which can differ from the superhero genre expectations. An example of where this is used is “Who’s balls did I have to fondle to get my own movie?” which again links to sexual connotations and a comedic aspect, but also involves the audience and makes them feel like they are there, talking to Deadpool.
