This movie is about a young journalist living in New York, her name is Rebecca Bloomwood. She is a compulsive liar and is an addicted consumer that can’t resist shopping and spending money. She has several unplayable debts on her credit cards and has no way of paying them off. She is forced by her friend Suze to attend counselling from her addiction, but it does not help at first because she does not think she needs help.
