Are you someone who believes that everything happens for a reason? While some things happen that do not affect any part of my life, I believe that everything happens for a reason no matter what it is. Everything I do in life has a consequence to it whether it be big or little. If nothing had a reason for happening, what would our purpose of living be.
Religion and technology have shown to affect me the most in life. The freedom that has been a blessing to me the most is freedom of religion. We accept every religion that you are able to think of here in America. My grandfather is the pastor of the church my family goes to which is Cornerstone Baptist Church in New Lexington, Ohio. I have gone to this church my whole life. Although I have always gone to church, I have not always been willing to go at certain points in my life, though my mom has always made me continue going anyways. She says, “if you live in my house, you live by my rules” which I do not disagree with at all, I actually respect that rule. Growing up in a church I believe has given me many values and morals that many people do not have. Going to a public school and being around people who do not have these same beliefs can put pressure on one to do things that they are against. I was always quite the angel until I met a boy that I fell in love with and I started to do the things he did. He snuck me out all of the time, I went to parties with him and did some illegal things that I have always told myself that I would never do in my life. The funny part about it is, in the Bible it says something along the lines of, “your sin will seek you out”. Of course, my sin did “seek me out”. I got caught sneaking out, I got caught drinking in my basement, and I have also been caught high before all by my mom. Sure enough I got in a load of trouble but that is how it works. I grew up with a strict mom and usually when kids are being told not to do something all their life, all they want to do is go do it just to see what really is so wrong about it. Through all of this I have grown and have learned so many things. From the things my mom has taught me and the things the culture of those around have taught me, I have learned it all for a reason; consequently, they have shaped me into who I am
