The American Heart Association is a charity that helps anyone dealing with cardiovascular disease. The charity was founded back 103 years ago in New York city by individuals who were worried about the lives of the people affected by cardiovascular disease. During the 1910s heart disease was considered a deadly disease, most patients were put to bed rest. Now thanks to the advancements in science there is a high chance of survivors. We should support and donate a million dollars to The American Heart Association because they help a lot of people, they support people suffering with the disease and survivors, and they are constantly trying to find new cures to help save people being affected.
This charity helps a lot of people. According to the CDC, “Every year 610,000 people die of heart disease, heart disease is the leading cause of death between males and females.” A large percentage of the American population is affected, according to American Heart association,”Nearly half of all African-American adults have some form of cardiovascular disease, 48 percent of women and 46 percent of men.” Heart disease affects a big portion of the population and the charity often does events to help support every person being affected. The charity has an online support network to help anyone who is struggling with heart disease or recovering from it can get help. People can also give their support to anyone dealing with heart disease and to make them feel better. They offer advice and help to make sure patients are healthy, such as, limiting their intake of alcohol and salt. American Heart Association holds training sessions to teach people how to do CPR, they hold support groups for people with heart disease.
