Alvin C. York who was an American war hero during WWI, was born on December 13, 1887, in Pall Mall, Tennessee. York was third out of eleven kids , he grew up in a small cabin and didn’t receive a lot of schooling as a child. When his father died in 1911, York, was forced to help his mother raise his younger siblings. Because of all the pressure he was under, of trying to fill his father’s shoes. York became a heavy drinker and was frequently involved in bar fights. York stayed a heavy drinker until 1914, when his friend Everett Delk was beaten to death during brawl in Static, KY. Douglas Macarthur was born on 26th January 1880, in Little Rock, Arkansas to General Arthur Macarthur and wife, Mary Pinckney Hardy. Like his father, he decided to pursue a military career and entered the army. He went to West Point Military Academy and graduated as a valedictorian in 1903. He began his career as an engineering officer in the army but climbed through the ranks and became a General. He was also nominated and given several honors and awards throughout his lifetime. He was known to be aggressive, radical and brave, which led him to make some decisions that were not generally approved (McCullough).
Eisenhower was born on October 14, 1890, in Denison, Texas. Growing up, he was the third of seven boys in a strict, religious family. In 1892, his family moved to Kansas where he spent the rest of his adolescent years. After being accepted into West Point in 1911, Eisenhower turned to sports to pass his time there. He joined the varsity football team, playing running back and linebacker (Banks 4). He graduated from West Point in the middle of his class, and with a less-than-average disciplinary rating. Six years after his graduation, he met his future wife Mamie Doud while stationed in Texas and married her in 1920.
Dick Axelsson was born on April 25th, 1987, in Stockholm, Sweden. He has been playing hockey since 2007. At 30 years old, Axelsson is currently playing for Sweden in the 2018 Winter Olympics. Throughout his career, he has played for Djurgardens IF, Modo Hockey, Frölunda HC, HC Davos, and, most recently, Farjestad BK in the Swedish hockey league. In the 2006 NHL entry draft he earned 62nd overall. Additionally, Axelsson won the Swedish Championship in 2009 and 2011, making the Elitserien All-Star team. On December 6th in 1941, a boy named Richard Benjamin Speck was born in Kirkwood, Illinois. He was the seventh child born out of eight children in his family. Early in Richards childhood when he was just six years old his father passed away. Richards mother had gotten remarried immediately to a drunk abusive man and moved everyone to Dallas, Texas. He and his siblings childhood was filled with juvenile delinquency and alcohol abuse from his new stepfather. In early November of 1962, he married Shirley Malone and they had one daughter, Bobby Lynn. Their married was extremely short. Speck was sentenced for theft and check fraud, in 1963. He lasted only four weeks free, before being arrested again for aggravated assault, he was then jailed again

Not to mention, growing up with one sister, Elizabeth Whitney and two brothers, Benjamin and Josiah Whitney, in a farm in Westborough, Massachusetts. Miles Dewey Davis III was born May 26 of 1926 in Alton, Illinois, but he grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. His father, Dr. Miles Dewey Davis, Jr., was a dental surgeon and his mother, Cleota Henry Davis, was a music teacher as well as a violinist. He has two siblings; an older sister, Dorothy Mae Davis, and a younger brother, Vernon Napoleon Davis.
Benjamin O. Davis, Jr. was born December 18, 1912 in Washington D.C. His father, Benjamin O. Davis, Sr. was one of the few African-American officers in the U.S. Army. Davis, Jr. was appointed to the U.S. Military Academy in 1932 by Rep. Oscar S. De Priest, the only black congressman at that time. At West Point he endured ostracism from both classmates and superiors who wanted to see him fail. He persevered and graduated 35th in a class of 276 in 1936. He was the fourth African-American graduate in the Academy’s history. Upon commissioning he and his father became the only two black officers in the army. His application to the Army Air Corps was refused because the Air Corps did not accept African-Americans.

His father had Hassidic roots and was imprisoned in Russia before moving to Germany in 1922 while his mother Johanna Grothendiek came from a protestant family in Hamburg and worked as a journalist. Grothendiek was born in germany, he was raised and lived primarily in France. he worked for most of his life but he was in effect "stateless" as he constantly his first name as "Alexander"rather than "Alexandre".Grotendiek lived with his parents in Berlin unil the end of 1933, when his father moved to Paris to evade Nazism followed soon thereafter by his mother. They left grothendiek in the care of the pastor and teacher in Hamburg. During the WW2 he left to france andlived with his mother in several camps for displaced person. His father was areested and sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp.where he died in 1942.

I recently came across a video about a drug called Flakka in Florida. It brought me a lot of attention so I read an article about it. This drug, Flakka is very dangerous, highly addictive and causes hallucinations and psychosis. There were many reports about people who were high on the drug, they basically go out of control to a point where you can’t even predict what their next move is. A University student stabbed a married couple and people have tried to attack others around them. People high on the drug also are paranoid so they see people trying to attack them or kill them.
