Nowadays, everyone has a Bachelor’s, it’s become the standard to have one. I feel having something greater than that is bound to catch the employer’s eye of wherever I might apply. The job I plan on taking with the double-major is the field of accounting. This job basically revolves around math which is the subject I’m best on. I plan on working as that for a while. I’d want to do it enough to clear any debt that I may have, or just to settle down. My preferred college for this is the University of Texas, as I’ve come to learn they have an excellent business program. After doing that for a few years, I want to go back to law school to get my law degree. I feel with the experience I’ll get from business and law I’ll be more than suited to be a lawyer from a company. Companies, especially those whom make any products for customers, get sued a lot. Having experience on both of these fields would make me excellent for this position.

Considering the mathematical, logical and analytical nature of the degree, economics majors are highly desired by employers in a range of different professions.

The key is to find the right area for which employers will be looking to higher new professionals. The main advantage about having a degree in business with a liberal arts background is the fact that the possibilities are plentiful. Several institutions now have been able to provide their graduates with higher status positions in the workforce. This elite status has acted as a primary instrument for colleges that describe themselves as business majors in a liberal arts institution (Delucchi, 2009, p. 176). This can be found in almost every field, such as accounting, communications, marketing, public policy, and even in the medical, psychology, engineering, and global studies fields.

Overall, a law career is not always painted in the kindest light. There a thousands of stories of lawyers who have represented horrible people or have done terrible deeds in order to win a case. When I first thought about law, I completely disregarded the possibility because I did not want to be that person. Then, I realized that I did not have to be that person. Instead, I could do amazing things with a law degree. There are lawyers who work internationally to improve the lives of other people, who help people in need, and thousands of other people who promote peace instead of violence. That is exactly what made me decide to pursue a law degree. The only downside to this is the amount of money and years it will take to pursue this path.
