As an accounting major, the next career question you are asked is, when do you plan on taking the C.P.A. exam. Most, students take the exam just because of outside pressure, and some students ultimately don’t even take the test. I believe that obtaining a CPA license means much more than just an expected process and vitally beneficial to my accounting/business career path. Becoming a CPA provides numerous intangible and financial rewards. The rigorous process of becoming a CPA through studying, gives you clear understanding of the major processes and rules of accounting that are essential to successful contribute to a business. From erudition of analytical processes, to financial reporting, and even business concepts and ethics, you are able to advance and develop your accounting skills and knowledge. My ultimate goal is to obtain the skills needed to help a business/corporation with their internal growth and thrive. Compensation is never everything, but an essential reason as to why we work. It is extremely important to me to have the resources to build a substantial financial portfolio for my future spouse, children, and to monetarily effect those around me. Currently, I volunteer at a non-profit organization named, The Hope Center, in downtown Kansas City, MO. Their goal in to serve the urban youth to develop leadership skills needed to then transform communities. Now, I am only able to give time which is an excellent and fulfilling resource.
