Majored in accounting during my undergraduate at Michigan State University, I am determined to be an audit professional at a public accounting firm in Toronto upon graduation from MMPA program. To better qualify myself and equip myself with advanced accounting knowledge, I am dedicated to obtaining the CPA designation as well. In the next three to five years, I see myself being promoted from an associate to a manager who will lead a team and direct a project. Working as a manager in a public accounting firm will definitely sharpen my leadership ability and problem-solving skills, which are prerequisites for my long-term career objective. Since I am pursuing an accounting career path, CPA designation, a well-recognized credential in the industry, is absolutely helpful for my career development.
Secondly, the two co-op work terms provided by MMPA would be very beneficial to me, because I can apply what I learnt in the classroom to the real world as well as gain valuable work experience at an accounting firm. Specifically, I will work directly with clients to help them solve auditing and tax issues and further expand my network by collaborating with my colleagues at work. More importantly, the co-op work experience will lay a solid foundation for the full-time recruiting.
Moreover, the case-oriented structure offered at MMPA is a great fit for me. During the past three and a half years at Michigan State University, I was actively engaged in a variety of case competitions, which enhanced my communication skills and bettered my presentation techniques, skillsets that are indispensable at MMPA. Additionally, with my strong interest in mathematics, I enrolled in several mathematics-related courses during my undergraduate, which helped me solidify my analytical skills that will be heavily utilized at MMPA as
