I remember the many trips we took to Mexico on a yearly basis since growing up. Though I was young, I clearly recall the foods and the different celebrations we attended. It was like a different world for me, a fun world and I looked forward to visiting every year! My favorite part was getting a few pesos and being able to spend it at “La Tiendita” the “Little Market” next door. Of course I always spent it on candy and would have to beg my dad for more. My family and I would spend a whole day at the beach. We would even fish and eat what we caught. I vividly remember those experiences and the free-spirited child that I was. It was those trips that gave me a better understanding of my culture but I wouldn’t live there due to the poor living
In this paper I am writing about my enriching Mexican culture. I have practice two cultures but I mostly relate to my Mexican culture. Mexican culture is filled with art, music, and religion. This cultural has been around for decades and they have been through so much but yet they have keep some of the same valves since the Aztec times. Mexican belief on health has a great impact from religion and what can be found naturally by earth.
I am going to tell you about a famous, yet kinda eerie celebration that takes place in mexico. This is a tradition celebrated by the Mexican Natives, most Mexican Americans (including myself) don’t even acknowledge this day, unless they happen to be visiting mexico at the time of this event.

In conclusion, for many, Mexico is simply a country on a map. Even becoming a place that they wish to keep from and forget. For others like me, however; it was a place that hasn’t only reconnected me with my culture, but a home where I had the good fortune of reuniting me with my loved ones. Also, having had helped me come to terms with myself, my trip allowed me to find myself and recover what I had left
Frances Calderón de la Barca explored Mexico for over two years during her residence away from Spain. During that time, she gave great detail of the life associated with the Mexican people and what it was like for her being a guest in their country. European influence played a major role in creating a stable nation for the country. Their religion has played the biggest part in providing stable principles during this time. In the novel, Life in Mexico, Mexicans have held on to the Spanish influence of Catholicism. Frances Calderón de la Barca gives great detail on how Catholicism has created holidays within Mexico, created numerous churches throughout the country, and influenced the daily lives of the Mexican people.
Relations between the United States and Mexico have become increasingly strained, due in part to American’s contribution to ever-growing cartel violence in Mexico. The United States has been the main contributor to the cartels’ takeover of Mexico, and the current policy approach of limiting the United State’s role has failed. History has exhibited our inability to make peace with Mexico, and without considerable reform to our approach to the “War on Drugs” relations between the countries will not improve.
As my father and I finally fit the statue of the little Virgin Mary in the back of the car, it was time to get on the road. I could already taste the guavas from my great grandfather’s ranch. I was so close to my Mexican culture that when I was actually exposed to the American culture it was like I was from a foreign place.
