With the tragic events of 9/11 more than 2000 people died with this tragic event and impacted many lives in and in America's culture. However at the same time he brought awareness to the nation's security didn't alter the beliefs of how people think of each other. I interviewed my dad to see how personally, he felt about 911 attacks and if he felt that America has changed since his immediate reaction to the 9/11 attacks was when he was working and saw on the TV he was very surprised. Before the events of 9/11 the US had been attacked before and we were aware of possible threats. However, these threats, specifically those of Al-Qaeda were not taken seriously by American foreign policy makers or regular Americans alike, so on September 11, 2001 Americans were truly shocked by the scale of devastation and loss of life that occurred. The effect these attacks had on America was incredible. In the years that followed Americans became fearful and discriminatory of religious groups; the government created the Department of Homeland Security and enacted stricter search and seizure laws, and America’s foreign policy became defined by unilateral decision making and preemptive war.
The 9/11 attack changed America in ways that made limits on our freedom and privacy seem better than the alternative. On September 11, 2001, “...our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist attacks,” President George W. Bush stated in a public address shortly after the attacks. He also stated, “Today, our nation saw evil – the very worst of human nature – and we responded with the very best of America,” to calm fears ...
9/11 was a horrific incident. There are no words that can possibly describe how deeply it affected the America that my generation has come to know. This atrocity hurt the economy and made us into an intolerant country; however, this same atrocity also opened our nations eyes. It showed us how vulnerable we were, and as a result our countries security, and the concern for safety of its citizens has grown. While it is important to recognize how terrible 9/11 was, its also important to recognize how much it has helped our great nation. 9/11 and events like it are important. They show us how to better our country and though painful, these events necessary into growing our country.
His actions enabled our society to continue and saved the human race from being annihilated. He stopped the Soviet Union from their contemptible decisions in using nuclear weapons which would have led to mass destruction. It leaves a question as to whether our government truly cares about the world, that they would leave the sake of it in ones hand.
The things JFK did for this nation in the short term will forever be remembered in history. He took technology to a whole other level by having a vision of taking a man off this planet & putting him on the moon literally. His involvement with the civil rights movement changed this nation forever. From being a country that based your rights on what color you are to where we are now is remarkable. Now the United States is a country that many other nations look up to & actually base their rights & laws off of.
The attacks on the World Trade Center changed American culture. The attacks of 9/11 caused American people to bond together in a time of need. People all over the country flocked to churches to pray for safety during this dark time. Racism soon became a major factor. Any Muslim person, citizen or not, was viewed as a terrorist. American culture was greatly changed by the attacks 9/11.
It is perhaps easy to remember George Bush as a poor orator, someone who finished bottom of his class at Yale, basically a unremarkable man who should never have been president. In a time when the incumbent president is being forgotten in favour of the election race of the century it is simple to remember Bush as a thouroghly unpopular president who has stained America for the worse. However unintelligent, uneloquent George W Bush united a nation in the days following the 11th september 2001.His rousing sentiments spoken from the rubble of the world trade centre with the brave firefighters by his side showed a strong leader who loved his country. His reaction to 9/11 is essential in determining his legacy because it is an event that will be talked and learnt about in years to come. It is etched onto american’s hearts and minds and therefore for many so is George Bush. Once the war in Iraq is over the image of the falling towers will remain and the president will be remembered for handling this crisis. It is likely the atrocities in Iraq will seem distant to Americans as the ones still affecting the vietnamese every day do. Bush appeared strong capable and resolute after 9/11 and this I predict will have more staying power than the unpopularity regarding a middle- eastern war. When the president speaks about the terrorist attacks he appears to be deeply affected by them which speaks to Americans, it gives them solidarity and unity. As his press secretary recently said "The president thinks about 9/11 every single day when he wakes up and before he goes to bed.
Despite the unpopular opinions of his foreign policies, his domestic policies greatly benefited the American people. His actions towards change for the Civil Rights Movement, War on Poverty and the environment has had great impact on the Unites States then and till this day.
On September 11, 2001, Osama Bin Ladin executed the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil. The attack killed over 2,900 people, and since then America has changed in many ways. One example is the phobia people now have against people of Middle-Eastern decent or people that practice the Islamic religion. Since people think differently of these groups, they do not treat them with the respect they give to other people. They can be denied jobs, education, housing because of their religion and/or their Middle Eastern background. Another example on how America has changed since 9/11, is the airport security has grown largely. The new change can impact many travelers, as well it spends a lot of the American government’s money.
This man went to a nation in dire need of a leader, an optimist, and above all save the country from drowning in it's own feces. The fact of the matter is simple.
And the way his legacy has made our people bring upon a powerful resource to make efforts to change our society throughout all races.
He has saved the world from being plunged into slavery, and secured for us the right to live life as we please. The first time, he organised an army by his lonesome within a day to stop the evil forces who roamed free, pillaging anything that they came across. He then led the battle, not one to sit in a command tent and throw around orders, while his friends put their lives at risk.

September 11, 2001 was a day that Americans and the world for that matter will not soon forget. When two planes went into the twin towers of the World Trade Center and two others went into the Pentagon and a small town in Pennsylvania, the world was rocked. Everyone in the United States felt very vulnerable and unsafe from attacks that might follow. As a result, confidence in the CIA, FBI, and the airlines were shaken. People were scared to fly after what had happened.
