I first would like to express my gratitude for granting me the opportunity to receive a review for admission. My personal goals have evolved a little over that last year. An unfortunate shoulder injury changed my original plans for life after the Air Force and perusing a career as a police officer, truthfully this injury was a bit of a blessing in disguise. It made me, explore my interest and I have recently started to enjoy the world of business and the possibility of one day owning my own. The idea of being able to create a thriving organization that employs real hard working Americans is something that truly gets me excited. Also, having this degree will fulfill a personal goal of being the first in my family to obtain any sort of higher learning. Once I obtain my B.S. in business I feel not only will it help me achieve my goal of …show more content…
Another strength is I like to do things right the first time, but this is a little bit of a double edge sword. I tend to be hard on myself if I don't get something to my liking. It took a little work for me to realize that perfection isn't always what truly matters, if you can look back and say “I did everything I could, and I worked my hardest" as long as I gained some type of knowledge from those experiences that are what’s really important. Nowadays, if I run into one my over critical situations I take a step back and ask myself am I doing my best and if I think yes well then, I'm already meeting my goal. And in some of my more challenging situations, I like to turn to some of my mentors, friends or even family. I am so fortunate to have an amazing support system. At any minute of any hour of any day, I can always turn to a familiar face even if I haven’t talked to that one particular person is some time. Fully knowing that they've always got time to sit and chat about whatever might be challenging me, especially my wonderful
These strengths and weaknesses were mainly discovered through the papers that we have written. I have many strengths when I’m writing papers and at the same time, I have many weaknesses. In my papers, I have noticed that one of my biggest strengths is how articulate I am. The papers that have been written by myself show that I structured sentences to present ideas in different ways. It is not straightforward and boring when ideas are presented. I like to keep the reader hooked on my paper. In order to keep up with this strength, I like to read articles. The articles I read are typically the ones that present new ideas or start arguments. This is one of my strengths that I am very proud
My top strength is Individualization. To me, this strength means the ability to figure people out and understand the true uniqueness of others. With this strength, I am able to make things run smoothly and, at the same time, able to involve everyone in a group. The next strength I have is strategic, which enables me to find alternative ways to deal with problems. Therefore, I am also able to make things run smoothly and according to plan. In addition to these two strengths, my third strength is competitive which measures how successful I am compared against others. This is great because it helps me to endure and work hard in order to make it to the top. My fourth strength is restorative which is a talent that helps me to deal with any problems that may arise and ensure that things continue going according to plan. This strength means that I can endure and overcome any adversity that comes my way. My last strength is achiever. This is a strength that helps me to work hard and always be productive. Being an achiever maintains my ability to always keep going and to constantly feel the need to be productive.
This strength, in particular, influenced my decision to pursue social work as a career because cases will often be complex and I know that changes do not occur overnight and positive results only occur within time. I mastered the strength of being patient because growing up with an older sibling often requires you to learn patience. One aspect I realized was I don’t get frustrated easily and that is because I can be a patient person. The second strength I possess is being empathetic for example when a friend or family member shares something that may not be going to good in their life I like to pretend I am in their shoes, I like to provide empowerment and also be relatable, often times when one of my friends is upset over a situation I tend to get upset as well. I like to look at events through a sociological lens so I can better understand the situation. The last strength I possess is dedication, I feel this will influence my decision to pursue social work because I put my heart and soul into every aspect of my life, for example, I am quite dedicated to my studies, in High School I worked extremely hard to make it into the top ten of my graduating class and by being dedicated to my school work I ended up being number five. I am an extremely dedicated person because I do not like to fail, and I’ll always give it my all until I can no longer do so, I believe I would be a good social worker because I’d be dedicated to my client trying my hardest to provide the best of the
My five strengths according to the strength finder include; balance, this helps me be aware of treating all people equally regardless of the situation. I am neither in anyone 's favor or against anyone as this to me is selfishness and individualism. This would result in a situation where some people scale heights due to connections while others are lagging behind. I believe that a consistent environment where the rules apply to everyone is the best for individuals to function best (Rath, 2007). Flexibility is my next strength. By knowing that things do not always work out as planned has helped me change the tactics of how I perform my tasks. I do not always expect to have a smooth flow of opportunities or accomplish goals, but
College Admissions Essay If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there.
One strength I saw myself, as having when I enter college is being able to understand and critical think about a essay/article that I have read. However, after taking English 101, I have now learned that this is a strength of mine as well as a weakness.
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. As Roth states in Strengths Finder 2.0, we as a present day world tend to focus on and try to overcome our weaknesses rather that building up our strengths. Using our natural talents can help us do the best we can and help us be a better asset. After taking the strengths assessment, I found that my top five strengths themes ended up being: relator, discipline, competition, responsibility, and significance.
Another strength that I have is being an active listener. I listened to my clients and utilized a lot of micro skills. Insuring confidentiality was also a strength that I developed closer to the end of field placement. Conducting assessments and making sure I tracked and exhausted the topics was also a strength that I identified throughout field. Practicing from a strengths perspective was also another area I excelled at when working with my clients. A skill that I could work on is being more conscious of self in terms of body language during interviews, because at times I find myself with my arms cross which may give an indication that I’m closed off or
The main strength I acquired was making me a hard worker when I went through all my mixed emotions. Going through rough times made me a hard worker, which came with many other skills. To start, while I gained the strength of being a hard worker, it made
Strengths are things that ever person has that makes them unique in character. My strength is hope. Hope can bring so many good things for so many, because hope is a way of not giving up on something. Hope for me plays a big part in my life on a day to day basis. For myself, I use hope in my life constantly, and I am always weaving my strength into it as much as possible.
To many, residence is the most convenient option for accommodation. However, to me, it is more than just that. Rather, it is a great blessing and privilege, for with residence, one gets to become part of an entirely different aspect of college. I have been very active with several societies and my academic performance showcases that I am a hard worker who is focused on pursuing excellence and distinction in whatever I decide to commit to. I am also a firm believer in the need for fulfilling commitments to the best of my abilities.
In my first undergraduate year, I did not live my life. I existed. I was lost in the class and completely in crisis for boring general subjects of International Economic Relations. My performance was poor with no impressive grades and no social activities. I kept wondering: Is it my passion to live?
Dear Admission Office committee of the University of Pennsylvania, At first, I would like to sincerely thank the Admission Office for taking the time to look through my application amongst thousand of applicants and offering me the singular opportunity to be on the waiting list. To manifest the tremendous impact that this decision caused, I echo my father’s words: I am proud of you. You have not only broken all the barriers and became the first family member to enroll at a University but also conquered a place of hope on the waiting list of your dream college. Secondly, I sent my application forms to UPenn in December of 2015; however, as a dynamic person, I have changed and accomplished some goals since then. Therefore, I will take this

One of my greatest strengths at work that I have recognized would have to be my ability to be a well-organized individual. I tend to write what I have to do down on paper and prioritize what is more important to least important. In doing this, it helps me organize and accomplish my work and meet deadlines that are important. A personal strength that I have at home is patience. I am a mother of a beautiful three year old little girl who is a handful. Patience is my greatest strength as a parent and individual which I possess especially being a single mother. I am a dedicated and hard working mother and I always make sure that my daughter gets the love and attention she needs.
