I have always wanted to go to university, somewhere busy, that excites me and where every day there is something innovative to do or see. I want to go to university to experience life in a city, meet new people and be inspired by everything around me and reflect this in my work.
I chose to study English Language, as I have consistently enjoyed writing for a variety of purposes and studying how language can be used. Continuing this through university will build upon my skills and style as a writer. Fashion is a subject that has always fascinated me and through studying Textiles I have been able to broaden my skills, within textile techniques and fashion design. I feel that fashion stimulates me, as every time I start a new project I love exploring the possibilities and ideas that I gain from in-depth research. The 1950's period of fashion has always played a part in every project I pursue, as I love its simplicity and glamour. Personally, my favourite designer is Luella Bartley, as she has come from a Fashion Journalism background which has given her the experience, talent and exper...
My life experiences thus far bring the best of both worlds to my education and career goals; a student coupled with a variety of life experiences. Being a newly graduated non-traditional student, mother of school-aged children, and experience working with students in the classroom, I bring diversity to your program. Through personal analysis and efforts with other professionals, I have overcome early childhood tragedies. Desiring to make the best use of my experiences by helping others to overcome trauma, and insecure upbringings by conquering these adversities and circumstances positively. Through my example of grit, tenacity, resilience, and perseverance, I hope to offer much to the students in my role as their mentor.
Getting a job is probably the most worrisome matter for college seniors. Nowadays most students deem college education as an investment that can eventually bring profits in the long run in terms of a financially successful career. To this end, a great number of students major in the most lucrative majors, which are not their actual interests. Luckily, I am able to dive into the field I love in college, and it blends with my career goal perfectly. I like teaching and conducting research, so I hope to become a psychology professor at a research university some day.
“Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” (Leon Brown). I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. I believe my purpose is to help people in their times of need. To fulfill my purpose, I will need to use my personal, academic and career goals to create a pathway to get to where I want to be
My goals in college are to get involved with student government, play lacrosse graduate in the top of my class all my life of being in school I was always active not just a regular student. Whether it was SGA or sports or volunteer work I was a part of it; all years of school levels I have graduated with honors and I do not want to see anything different now while I am in college. As we all know college is not a walk in the park and I am well aware of that. I have to really be on my game to accomplish my goal of graduating with honors. I am already on the way of my goal, I have already completed 3 business courses and am now on the process of taking one now. I have taken business law, introduction of business, and industrial business; I did not take them at Towson however they still transferred over as business courses.
My personal career goal is to become a director at GEICO where I currently work. To become a director, there are several things that have to be done to prepare you for the position. The first requirement is getting a bachelor’s degree in business. Your education isn’t limited to college, but there are required classes that are required within GEICO that they are required to take also. The second requirement is following the management path. The first one is being a coach, complete the supervisory preparatory program (SPP), become a supervisor, complete the management preparatory program (MPP), become a manager and then after being a manager one can become a director. Each step will prepare you for the next steps. The
Deciding what career you want to partake in life is defiantly not a straightforward task. One has to choose something they love to do because, in most situations, they will be in that career field for the rest of their life. This is why it is very important to choose something that you love to do and have a passion for. If you treasure the job you have, then you will live a much happier life. In my case, I am deciding to go into the field of electrical and computer science because it is something that is close to my heart. It is also important when choosing what you want to do in life to set goals. These goals will help you to strive for something greater, and they will give you immense satisfaction once you reach them. Everybody has their
The goal for my educational career is to earn a degree in Systems Engineering from the Ohio State University. I have chosen this major because it combines two of my lifelong passions: science and problem solving. Systems Engineering is all about the design and management of complex systems. As well as helping to make existing systems run more efficiently. This major will open up opportunities in a multitude of different fields because complex systems are an integral part of society and can be found in almost any industry. I also plan on earning a minor in Spanish. One of my main goals is study for a semester in Spain to immerse myself in the language and experience all that the amazing culture has to offer. Studying abroad has ability to change
As part of the assignment for this chapter I recognized and prioritized my education, career, life goals. This was an interesting exercise because it made me analyze my goals which I had not done in a long time. I conceded my goals as follows; Education: graduate with a BAAS in the Fall of 2017 semester, start a Master degree in the Spring of 2018, graduate with a Master degree by Fall of 2021. Career: achieve a higher level in my position (via training, certification, etc.) by April of 2017, find a career that will provide a more personal satisfaction by 2018. Life: spend more time with my daughters, travel to Europe, be more financially stable, buy a new home, travel to Hawaii. The education, career and life goals are in a priority order to which I am planning to achieve each one of them moreover. People change their priorities, and I am not an exception, but I have two daughters that depend on me, so my main concerns have changed related to education, career and life goals. I compared these recent goals listed above with the goals that I set for myself ten years ago, a reasonable number
Many people have told me that my educational career goal is difficult to achieve, and it most likely is. I have dreamed of becoming a doctor since I was seven years old and now, I am one step closer. I will be majoring in Biomedical Science (Pre-Professional Concentration) at the University of Central Florida in hopes of attending Medical School.
My career goal is to specialize in cardiology or neurology after majoring in biology for my undergraduate years and work with an organization that specializes in either one of those two fields. My life aspirations are to continue to gain more knowledge and excel in a career where I can be financially stable. I love learning; I love it when I learn something in one class and I am able to connect it to the concepts in another class or apply it to life in general. To me, learning is a lifelong process. However, I cannot describe how many times wonderful opportunities were available for me, but I could not take advantage of them because of my family 's financial circumstance.
I would like to begin this assignment by first stating my career goals; as I move forward with the assignment I will then start my academic goal.
My career and personal life goals has been in the past experimental. I was seeking more money and not focusing on success. Then I moved to Colorado roughly three years ago and have been breathing in a new life.
A university or college is my chance to make something of myself, no one in my immediate family has graduated from college yet so I’d like for them to be proud of me for that achievement.
Now that you have entered college, what are the immediate short-term goals you expect to achieve this semester and the following two semesters? Address the goals that are relevant to you in the academic, personal, and career realm. What does it mean to you to achieve these goals? Why do want to major in __________? What opportunities will your completing this academic degree will be available to you? Who can help you make your career and or academic decisions?
My ultimate goal is to receive my Doctoral degree in social psychology from University of California Berkeley or Stanford University. After receiving my Doctoral degree, I would like to pursue a career in academia by teaching and participating in research. I have also considered a career in research separate from academia, where I would be free to focus on research and less on teaching. My main career goal is to continue to do research and further knowledge in social psychology. The social psychology program at San Francisco State University would help me achieve this goal because they have a strong emphasis on research. The program requires research under a faculty member in their lab, starting one’s first day in the program. The program also
