Are KPLI and DLPI Programmes Still Relevant?

As we know, the KPLI and DPLI students will get the allowance for more than a thousand ringgit every month. If we can compared with the students who take four years of education courses or actually, they are under Program Ijazah Sarjana Muda Perguruan (PISMP) where they need to borrow the money from Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN). Is it fair to students who are studying for four years than KPLI and DPLI students who only study for one year? This issue has arisen since a few years ago. Most of degree education students are not satisfied with government decision according to that issue and it seem like the government not fair and bias in their education policy itself. They did not satisfy because in four years studied in IPTA they faced financial problem for example they need to pay expensive university fees, rent and many things. From my observation, most of students come from moderate income family but only a few of students from high income family. The government is wrong if think the PTPTN loan are enough to bear their lives in IPTA. For instance, I am education student from UiTM who borrow PTPTN loan to study there but that money is not enough for me and I still depend on my family to pay a rent, buy the books, and foods.

So, if we can investigate the background of degree education students are come from matriculation, diploma and STPM graduation. Most of them had good result in order to them to enter the higher education as UiTM, UPSI, USM and so on where offered education courses there. But, why government do not give opportunity to them to get scholarship? This is because these students are students who really want to become a teacher. We know that there are few of degree education students who got scholarship from Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia (KPM) and Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia (KPTM) compared to KPLI students where all of them will get allowance for every month. But not many of them got that scholarship. The Government used big budget for KPLI and DPLI students especially in term of allowance and my opinion for that issue is the government should reduce the amount of allowance of KPLI and DPLI students in order to save the money where it can use in many aspect particularly education aspects. If we can calculate manually, the one person get RM13++ for every month and multiply with twelve months they studied at IPTA and IPGM and the total allowance they receive was RM15+++.
