John Lewis businesses needs multiple of information systems so that they can perform effectively. There are 4 type of information systems such as: Executive information system, Decision support system, Management information system, Transaction processing system Executive information system Executive information system is placed at the top origination level. This kind of information system is not only for CEO’s but for any senior manager where they work at John Lewis and they must know how to improve the company. John Lewis will use this internal source information such as sale information, information from stakeholders, to see how the company doing or if it needs anything to be changed and get more profit out of that. The information can be made into categories which can be outputted to make choices for the future of the company. Information will be kept in the database and the database will contain tools to help process the information in multiple ways. The key features of Decision support systems are logistic system and financial systems. The logistics system will be able to make information from the data it gets so John Lewis can use it to make choices. This can have an effect on the company’s feature on how the make decisions together as a firm. The financial system will allow John Lewis to take over their costs and they can monitor their costs and investments. They can see if some investment are risky and see if the company will get anything out of it. Management information system This system will be based on making choices for the support system.
