Tobacco Regulation
Tobacco companies have been in a battle with anti-smokers for a while about regulating tobacco, and there has been a war between tobacco companies and anti tobacco crusaders, because of regulating tobacco and some lawsuits. For one viewpoint regulating tobacco would be a good thing to do, anti tobacco crusaders are saying that regulation of tobacco is necessary to protect public health; on the other hand the other viewpoint is say that the tobacco companies are saying “regulation of tobacco will do more harm than good.”
There are two sides to this war on tobacco regulation and here is the first viewpoint. According to No Expectations for Cigars, the 2009 Federal Law that required the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to begin regulating, and how the law would regulate tobacco ;for example, ban free giveaways of any non-tobacco items with the purchase of a tobacco product or in exchange for coupons or proof of purchase (What FDA Regulation of Tobacco Products Really Means 3). Increasing taxes on cigarettes is an effective way to reduce teen smoking (Kline 139). The first viewpoint is all about regulating tobacco and there are different ways to regulate tobacco and this is one of them, and this would make people not wanting to spend more money on cigarettes. Ban all remaining tobacco-brand sponsorships of sports and entertainment events (What FDA Regulation of Tobacco Products Really Means 3). Eventually the FTC and Congress banned any radio or television advertising (Congress Requires Cigarette Warning Labels 3).
