Don’t take our word for it - see why 10 million students trust us with their essay needs.
From prehistoric times, stamina and strength were key to man's ability to find food and survive. As time went on, other ancient civilizations such as China, Egypt, Greece, and Rome adopted this practice known as phsycal education.
But, the Spartans and the Athenians were the first people to have any type of physical education programs.
Physical Education (abbreviated "PE") is definined as the process of education that develops the human body, specifically fitness and movement skills. PE helps you stay fit, healthy, and flexible. It can also prevent many diseases and lower your risk for getting a certain disease. Exercising can help your coordination and circulation.
"The primary aims of PE are to provide students with knowledge, skills, capacities, values, and enthusiasm to maintain a healthy life" and future.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_education) In all of the states of the United States of America, physical education is offered in grades kindergrten to twelth grade.
PE has started to offer more activities that are newer, such as frisbee golf. Some schools have even started to do you yoga and deep-breathing. Teaching non-traditional things like this to todays youth can also help students learn about different cultures.
Even though PE classes aren't mandatory in all schools, most of them fit it in to their daily schedule. Some times if they don't have these classes, they lose government funding for their school. And some people even debate if it should be required or not. But, with the rising obesity rates in America, and in children, I think that the government should require physical education. But sometimes, schools just can't have a PE class. Some of the contributing factors of that a...

The Presidential Fitness Test is a test to measure your fitness levels. Your fitness levels are measured in five different areas. The categories are: curl-ups or partial curl-ups, shuttle run, endurance run/walk, pull-ups or right angle push-ups, and V-sit or sit-and-reach.
Even though everyone may not always like Gym class, it is very important to America's youth. We need to stay healthy and exercising prevents obesity. And preventing obesity, in turn, helps prevent cancer. PE is very beneficial to everyday life.

The textbook states that, “physical education teaches students to add physical activity to their daily lives and exposes them to content and learning experiences that develop the skills and desire to be active for life”
The purpose of this research is to first define physical education. Then, I will explore the history of P.E. In the following section, I will compare and contrast the PE curriculum from past to present. Next, a description of the schooling requirements to become a physical education teacher will be given. Finally, I will share a reflection of my experience with an actual Physical Education teacher. Being a P.E teacher is the career I want, so why not research and get ahead on things?

Schools serve as an amazing venue to provide students with everyday physical movement, and to instruct the essentialness of general physical action for wellbeing. Shockingly, most individuals' get little to no general physical activity while in school. Budgetary obligations and the pressure to increase test scores have brought on school authorities to address the worth of PE and other physical activity programs. This has prompted a significant lessening in the time accessible for PE, and in a few cases, school-based physical action projects have been totally eliminated.
The purpose of my proposal is to request that physical education be made mandatory at Salida Elementary school. Children are not getting an adequate amount of activity during the school year. Obesity in children is on the rise in the United States. Therefore, we need to teach children how to make healthier decisions while they are young so they will have the tools to live a healthy lifestyle.
...elong learning (Whitehead, 2010). With ‘changes within polices and practice within SEND agenda’ (Bailey 2005), the government have increased political and awareness for children’s PE throughout the National Curriculum within the United Kingdom. Investigations conducted by various authors (Sport England 2001; Vickerman and Coates 2008) suggest that students with SEND take part in a smaller margin of physical activities within PE. He also highlighted that students with SEN do not take part in any sport as part of the extra curricular activities (Vickerman et al. 2003). Further research into this, it has been presented that students benefit socially, physically and mentally from participating in physical activity (Vickerman 2012; Vickerman et al. 2003; Kristen et al. 2002), which promotes ‘lifelong learning’, and participation in physical activities (Whitehead 2010).
The value of physical education P.E. teachers bring to schools and their students. P.E. has an effect on everyday life. With this in mind I feel P.E. is highly valuable. Physical education activities have development in mind. Children can participate in a variety of activities and are encouraged to achieve overall wellness by continuously staying active.
Physical education in school systems is beneficial because it improves students’ health. Without physical education the child’s overall health will decrease. Despite these benefits, some people believe that physical education has no value to children in schools. Physical education is significant in schools because it improves children’s health.
eight to ten) should be applauded for this, but frowned upon for not enforcing it on senior high school students (grades 11 and 12). Physical Education is defined as “the process of education that develops the human body, specifically fitness and movement skills” (Baker, 1990, p. 14). This teaches students valuable skills that would be applicable to life, present and future. Students also learn how to work and interact with others to pursue goals in a way which academic subjects, such as mathematics and science, may not provide. Physical Education should be a requirement for all British Columbia high school students because it provides physical skills necessary for effective social functioning, offers educational value and teaches healthy habits reducing health risks.
Over the past decades our culture has changes dramatically. To which our nation was once a physically active nation. Yet now it seems that society discourages physical activity. The human race has been dependent on automobiles, discouraging people to walk or bike, increasing the chance of a poor life-style. Yet there are many factors that affect the achievement and maintenance of a healthy life. Young people are growing into a diverse society, which is characterized by rapid change, inactive work and leisure practices that influence unhealthy behaviors. By incorporating physical activity into peoples daily routine will increase their chances of being healthier, reducing certain diseases and learning how to avoid injuries. Physical education helps students improve their knowledge about health issues and practices that will lead to a more enjoyable life. Students playing and working in a team together develop social skills, teamwork, achieving goals, and development of self-esteem. Overall physical education provides the potential for a better life style.
As a teacher my primary goal is to maximize student success. For me to accomplish that I need to create an atmosphere where students are enthusiastic and intrinsically motivated. Even though we do live in an extrinsic world, students need to have an attitude of doing things for themselves. Physical activity is a great way to demonstrate intrinsic rewards. By participating in regular physical activity students can reap the rewards of helping another succeed, giving complete devotion, increasing both health and skill related fitness, and also getting their own endorphins flowing. In life it is important to learn to to work well with others and team sports are a great way to incorporate ...

Some activity clubs we provide include, dancing, running, jump roping, basketball and soccer clubs, just to name a few. These clubs encourage kids to stay active. Our PE program also sends out monthly newsletters to the parents that give them ways to help their child live a healthy lifestyle. The National Association for Sport and Physical Education states, “Regular physical activity improves functional status and limits disability during the middle and later adult years. Physical activity contributes to quality of life, psychological health, and the ability to meet physical work demands. Physical education can serve as a vehicle for helping students to develop the knowledge, attitudes, motor skills, behavioral skills, and confidence needed to adopt and maintain physically active lifestyles. The outcomes of a quality physical education program include the development of students’ physical competence, health-related fitness, self-esteem, and overall enjoyment of physical activity. These outcomes enable students to make informed decisions and choices about leading a physically active lifestyle. In early years children derive pleasure from movement sensations and experience challenge and joy as they sense a growing competence in their movement ability. Evidence suggests that the level of participation, the degree of skill, and the number of activities mastered as a child directly influences the extent to which children will continue to participate in physical activity as an
There are many ways technology is used in physical education in schools today. Technology in PE is any thing that helps teachers improve the environment and class room activity 's for students and get them to be more physically active in and out side of the class room. There are many different ways technology is used, and it is a positive way to engage students in their physical education class. In my eyes technology in physical education is a very effective way to improve students physical fitness in and outside of the classroom.
Physical education takes place in the school curriculum which is timetabled and taught to all school pupils. This involves a range of different skills, learning basic movements
