As our generation continues to progress, technology also takes its course with us. Current day technology can provide an excellent aid for scholars attending school or even big named companies and businesses. On an average, most schools in America use textbooks to teach their students. This may be the default way for decades, but that should be changed soon as technological advances are coming in tact. Although it may just be a small handheld device, it can pack a punch for its size and can out win an old textbook anyday. Tablets enable scholars to branch out to many other school resources than just their textbooks.
To begin with, not only do tablets serve as an alternative for textbooks, it also serves a replacement for most of the school supplies and material needed in school. Imagine not rushing every morning to find your textbooks anymore as you know that all your textbooks are safely kept on your portable device. Going to school and class would be a breeze as there would be no hassle or bundle of books to carry. In addition, it also serves as resources for students to use. Most tablets hold apps that allow students to access the dictionary, thesaurus, research information, and etc. These functions will aid students and hopefully speed up the process classroom activities, since the teacher now won’t be bombarded with students who need help on the definition of a word, or where to find more information about a certain subject they are

currently learning about.
Secondly, adding tablets to schools can greatly decrease the costs of paper supplies needed and relieve the school’s budget. School Districts around America have suffer low budget costs, but if tablets were implemented in schools costs for sheets of paper an...

...ting system and customized the system to their liking. This just shows greatly to us that if children in Ethiopia who have little to no knowledge of current day technology can dissect a tablet and “crack its code”, then the current generation of students in America who’ve been engulfed around technology all their life, can easily access the device and fully use its features.
In conclusion, it is clear that its time to live in the future. Tablets have so many options and resources that can improve a students learning experience from aiding them in homework, research projects, to allowing them to type their own essays. If we were to keep to the defaultl ways of using textbooks, our generation would never completely experience the great invention of our generation. With saying this, when will the change for tablets take in effect, or will it ever be taken in effect?
One obvious alternative, which would thrill many teachers, would be to replace pens, pencils, paper, and the like with computer systems of one sort or another. Estimations have been made that computer systems at the school could be provided for as little as $800 per student including Internet access and basic maintenance. ('Computing Edge';, John Beecham, 1997) This approach would have many advantages, including the fact that our schools would be releasing children with at least a basic knowledge of how to operate a computer system, this in turn would make it much easier to learn to operate other, more complicated and more advanced systems, which would give our students needed job skills in today's information age.
In addition, textbooks are heavy to carry around and it takes longer to find a page. Likewise with digital textbooks they are compatible with tablets, smartphones, and laptops; it’s much easier to carry around and affordable price. However, some people may argue that digital textbooks can be a distraction for people because they would not bother read anymore. The author and poet Dana Gioia argues that electronics alternatives may be a bad influence that will lead society to not read anymore. Gioia complicates matters further when she writes, “While no single activity is responsible for the decline in reading, the cumulative presence and availability of electronic alternatives increasingly have drawn Americans away from reading” (161). I think Gioia is mistaken because she overlooks on electronics being a bad influence; but doesn’t see the benefits of electronics. To demonstrate, most of my textbooks are digital, which I can easily carry my tablet around where ever I go. Also, I save more money on digital textbooks and are simple to annotated the text. Journalist Ellen Lee interview a student from Liberty University, and he states that he prefers digital textbooks because he can tap his iPad, opens the digital copy and quickly open the page. Nevertheless, he also like digital textbooks because it has a feature that allows to highlight and mark the
”Books will soon be obsolete in the schools...Scholars will soon be instructed through the eye. It is possible to touch every branch of human knowledge with the motion picture” (Thomas Edison). An idea that was destined for failure has now been made into the key source to get students and teachers more interacted while in a classroom setting. Tablets such as the iPad and the Microsoft surface have made this idea possible, showing students that there is another alternative to the traditional method which would be a printed version of the textbook. Tablets are portable computers that use a touchscreen as its primary input device, meaning that both keyboard and mouse are both physically located on the screen. Early Tablets were built to be used with a pen, today however tablets can be used with just one finger or multiple fingers with the support of multi touch input. Tablet have had a positive input on society especially students in school that are looking to get their work done in an engaging way and, not by moving a pen or pencil like it’s been done for decades. Tablets have proven to be the better tool for learning among students.

...bulary compared to those who had no or less exposure to iPads. This is yet another solid reason why our country should be disallowing the use of devices in schools for students up to the age of seven.
People are convinced that technology is an effective tool that will further learning. This can be true, but when you use tablets
Students can use the tablets to play interactive games about their lesson. This helps the students learn more about a lesson more clearly. “Playing is not all about distraction and procrastination, games can really inspire creativity and out-of-the-box thinking” (Winstead, 2017). Using tablets is another terrific way to express a certain lesson for students like Liz to learn in a better
The textbooks that we use or check out at school are really out of date. Some of the information we receive through these books are not even relevent anymore. Along with getting more up to date info, the tablets holds more books and information. That way the student doesn’t have to carry mulitple books at one time. The books and information the student gets, they can highlight, and mark and write on the book or the writing with their finger also. For example, some of the books that I have been using just this year are torn, the spins are half off and the pages are ripped out. This way using the new information on the tablets, the teachers or advisors don’t need to worry about fixing the 10 year old books. If students need to learn about information and stats in a math class or important dates in history class, they should be able to learn the newer info. The up to date information that goes along with tablets should be an approach that schools and teachers should

More than 14,000 children are treated annually for injuries.. ( consumer US product Safety Commission) Tablets should be used in place of textbooks because they are state mandated, they are easier to carry around, and they are cheaper than textbooks.
The twenty-first century has arrived, and it has brought some of the most advanced computing technologies into the classroom; this leaves us with a very important question, do we really need technology, such as iPads or computers, implemented in our learning plans? As a student that has taken entire courses on iPads or computers, I can tell you that the former is not the case. There are plenty of reasons to teach about technological advances in each individual field of learning, but, more often than not, technology is unreliable and distracting for students. Not to mention that methods of maintenance rehearsal, like taking notes by hand, are more effective for recollection of information than staring into a screen. The bottom line is, using technology as a tool for education in the classroom is not necessary because it can inhibit the way students learn material.
Tablet computer, which comes with a touch screen interface, wireless and portable personal computer has increased in popularity throughout the years. At the same time, which many salesperson are employ and had already adopted the use of tablets in their daily life and sales. As tablets become more popular with employees worldwide, notice that salespeople are easily the most likely to request a tablet for work purposes. Besides, salespeople are the most connected in the workforce. Most often they tend to make the most phone calls and more often with a need for quick access to information and presentations. Last but not least, tablets are proving to be highly effective selling tools in the market and helpful for travelling
A couple of years ago education institutions were questioning whether or not computers could be a tool for learning and whether they should embrace it or not into their schools. Nowadays the use of computers has proven to be a great tool for educating students but with the new touch screen technology coming out many institutions does not know which technology is better to be used in their schools: computers or tablets (Piggott, 2011). These new devices are less expensive and more portable, yet some critics contend they’re not useful and are best for entertainment, not learning or work (Wylie, 2013). Touch screen devices are much cheaper and affordable and since educational institutions are always dealing with funding issues they might fall as a default into picking touch screen technology versus computers for their schools (Smith, 2013). The main question becomes is this a good choice?
As more people began to access the Internet through smart phones and tablets rather than laptops and computers, it is not a surprise that they would also want to transform the American education system by bringing tablets into classrooms. In fact, a few schools around the country have already replaced textbooks with tablets and have seen improvements in students’ standardized test scores. Using tablets instead of textbooks is not only convenient and helpful, but it can also reduce the amount of paper wastes in school. However, it is not a good idea to completely transform textbooks with tablets with the current technology, for it can not only be damaging to the environment and costly to set up, but also might not be effective in improving K-12 education in the long run.
All students deserve the most effective teaching materials in classrooms around the United States. Textbooks are not supplying what students need to achieve success throughout their education; therefore, tablets/computers should be used instead of textbooks. There are multiple advantages to taking textbooks out of classrooms throughout the United States.
Tablets are not the most powerful gadgets but they are the most convenient, they screen size overpower the smartphones. The life battery of tablets are better than phones this allow users to perform work or personal related task without connected to the battery or staying at one place. Given the advantages tablets are great for work task that involve lots of movement than computer, but they are many types of tablets this comes as IPad, android, and windows 8 tablet which is now upgraded to windows 10.
