Tablets Are More Beneficial than Textbooks

In an ever growing world being filled with new technology every day we have to bring in the new and out with the old. One of these old things we should get rid of is school textbooks and replace them with tablets. At a first glance of this argument it seems stupid because we’ve used textbooks for as long as we all can remember but a lot has changed in a little amount of time. In the twenty first century we’ve gone from giant computers that could do very little commands to mobile devices that can access the internet anytime with the touch of a button, and this can all fit in your pocket. Textbooks are big, bulky books that are a pain to students. The tablet is a great innovation that the school system should use them because it is an all around smarter choice than textbooks. Tablets are more beneficial to our education system because they weigh less than textbooks, it costs less to make tablets than to print textbooks, and tablets can update instantly to new editions.
First, many schools are teaching out of books that are usually four to five years outdated. The material in these books is old and some of it could have changed due to new discoveries and better techniques on how to teach students. Subjects that are ever changing with our world like biology, and computer science rely on the right material to be taught in school or students will be misinformed, but teachers can’t teach their students the right material with the wrong textbook. It is vital to student’s education that they are learning the newest material out there and this is possible with the new innovation of tablets. This will not only help kids learn the right material but it will also save the school money because they won’t have to keep purchasing new software and...

Textbooks are costing schools across the nation too much money yearly when they could be spending that valuable money on something else like field and renovations but instead were spending it textbooks that will go out of date in a couple short years then they’ll just have to buy them over again. Tablet prices keep on dropping on a yearly basis too this could be extremely beneficial to schools if they took advantage of it because tablets won’t always be dropping to these low of prices. Schools spend more money on textbooks than they do anything else in the long run, about 8 billion dollars a year for schools across the nation. This is a ridiculously large amount of money that we could be saving. At the end of the day there are hundreds of more reasons to replace the old printed textbooks with the new technology of tablets.
