The second oldest form of literature after poetry is drama. Dramas have changed a lot over the years. They use to plays that were wrote to be performed in the theater, and now they are mostly written to be performed in a movie or a television show. There are many dramas today that most people would not considered to be drama. Before reading the information in our text book, I thought drama was basically just a story or movie between people who had problems with each other; but that’s not completely true. Dramas can basically be anything that has a hero or dialogue to a certain extent. For this paper, I choose to write about the drama in the movie The Hunger Games. This movie is not just only drama, it is also adventure and sci-fi movie.
The Hunger Games is a movie and a book from the trilogy The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins; which also includes The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. The Hunger Games movie is about how each year there is an annual event called the hunger games. In the hunger games they are two people, one boy and one girl who range from the ages of 12 to 18, who are picked from each of the 12 districts to go fight for their lives and for their district to win. The catch about the annual hunger games, is that there can only be one victor. In this movie, the main character Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawerence) volunteers for her sister Primrose Everdeen (Willow Shields), who just turned 12 and this was the first year that her name had been put into the lottery. Katniss knew that her sister could not fight for her life in the games so she volunteered to take her spot, because she knew that she would have a better chance than Primrose to stay alive. When Katniss volunteered for her sister...

... play or story without these two elements. Theme is also another element of drama. The theme of this movie is that even though people live under the rules of a Capitol, does not mean that their lives can be controlled completely by the Capitol because sometimes they are smarter than the people above them.
The Hunger Games is a very good example of a drama. Even though drama is not part of the genre classification of this movie, this movie still has a lot of elements of drama. The Hunger Games is a prime example that almost any movie could be a drama. Since this movie and the book is part of a trilogy, that means that the rest of the books and movies are also dramas. A reader or watcher could tell that the rest of the series is a drama as well once they finish the books or the movies. This series is a great series and I recommend for everyone to read and watch.
