Chapter Four:
He looked me in the eyes as I listened to what he said. "So I think you are in grave danger with the other nightmare makers because they want to know what you do to get through the dream catchers," he finished.
I nodded slowly, I felt his eyes on me as I began to walk back to my desk.
"That's it!? You're not going to worry at all?" he asked me with a pitch of anxiety in his voice. I lifted my eyes slowly after I turned around. Once I met his eyes there was a bit of humor in my voice when I said, "Worry? Why would I need to worry over something so small?"
I could tell that my well-being obviously worried him, but if I wasn't worried, there would be no reason for him to. Now if only I could convince him of that.
I watched as he came completely inside and shut the door behind him. That made me worry and wonder a bit. He had never come in completely, let alone shut the door.
"What's wrong?" I asked him quietly. He leaned against the wall as he responded, "You're worrying me Jaura." I shook my head and said, "It is nothing I can't take care of myself. Besides, I'm not worried."
"That is why I'm worried!" he yelled then continued, "If you're not worried than that means you won't realize how the danger you really are in!"
"If I was in danger, I would know it," I told him cooly. He shook his head, I guess he finally realized there was no reasoning with me. He grabbed my hand, then let go and slid out of the door as he had come in.
"GREAT! Now there is this feeling of insecurity in the back of my mind!" I screamed to no one in particular. I realized I was talking to the shadows.
I walked in circles and told myself, "Don't worry, your magic is way stronger than that of those stupid 'fakes'."

...ed Alec. He began to shrink into the shadows. It was even freaking me out a bit, there was something off about them. They seemed stronger than normal. Their eyes were not the normal yellow, but now, all of it a blackish color.
"RUN!" I yelled to Alec. He didn't need a push or anything more. He took off without looking back. I began to chase after him, desperate to catch up.
And so the chase gave-way. I could hear my heart pounding as I ran, I was sure I even heard Alec's heart too.
I watched him carefully as he moved. Watching his every step, counting them even. Then, he disappeared! Where did he go? I began to panic.
What to do? Where to go? Should I find him? I almost decided when something hit me on the head. I realized I had stood there too long. They had caught up to me.
Soon, everything went black and I couldn't even hear their yells anymore....

He slowly opened his eyes and saw that this wasn't the case. He sat up and looked around him. He was thinking that someone was making a fire. There were at least forty-five police officers and fireman standing around him, with their shotguns pointed at him. While looking around him he saw that the other people that he had been traveling with had already gotten away before the police and fireman had reached them. They heard them coming and left me and went for it. He had been worrying to much but if he hadn't then he would have heard them coming to and he might have been able to get

“The boy’s subconscious thought rose to the surface of his mind: ‘There’s food, Alec, food-if you could only find some way of killing him!’ Then he shook his head, hating himself. Kill the animal that saved his life? Never...” (Farley 37) This shows maturity within Alec that in a life-threatening situation loyalty comes before living, a trait even most adults don’t have.
“NO!” Dan woke up panting heavily. ‘Maybe being a coward wasn’t as bad as it sounded like’ Dan thought to himself. Not knowing that it actually happened and the spirit was watching him through his window smirking at him.
But his expression stopped me cold. His eyelids scrunched tightly and his head turned 30 degrees, like he was bracing for a punch. “I know I messed up,” he mumbled, “You don’t have to yell at me.”
...en a strange feeling down his spine again, as if something was breathing on his neck. He turned slowly… seeing if someone was behind him and then boom! The figure was right there, about seven feet away, trying to grab him with his big, skinny, hands, with his sharp and dark fingernails that could rip a man’s heart out… He fell down, so surprised by the strange figure.
He was only a few feet away from the top now. Suddenly, he felt a hand grasp his left shoulder and pull him back. Shrugging off the hand he continued to run, but glanced back to see, how the runner behind him had managed to reach him so quickly and why was he trying to pull him back.
“Come back,” I yelped as I dressed quicker than I had previously thought possible. As soon as I came outside I didn’t spot him, thus I began to search. After frisking through my yard for twenty minutes, I still couldn’t find him. I’m usually a stolid boy, yet today I broke into tears.
"Katherine, hey." Michael, her stepdad stepped into the room. He was carrying a bouquet of simple, white flowers. "I hope you're feeling better. The doctors... well," He trailed off. "Let's not talk about that." While his tone was light, something heavy weighed him down.
Alright Lord, help me out. "I couldn't help but notice that you seem upset. Is everything alright?"
The sweat began to pour from my body, while my heart raced to pump blood at an accelerated rate. The chase was on.
"You look kind of scared" Daniel replied. I ignored him. I felt a tension that hung in the atmosphere. There was a fizzing, crackling feel in the air around us as we pulled on the hemp ropes and our jackets rustled in the electric atmosphere. I looked deep into Daniel's eyes.
