Guy Montag rested on the floor while dust covering and closed eyes. All around him was silence, and not the silence that you would hear in your bedroom at night. It was a strange and eerie silence that was surrounding Montag. It was disturbing just how silent it really was. It was a suspenseful silence that always follows the main character of a scary movie. It was the silence of death. Montag rested there, with his eyes closed; and he began to think, or more precisely, he began to reminisce. He recalled a part of a story in a book that he recited. He kept on repeating over and repeatedly in his head, as if he were frightened that he would overlook it if he didn't. He sustained to lay there even after he caught the others get up.
