1.0 INTRODUCTION
Topic related to sport, participation, undergraduate students, and their motivation is identified since this issue discussed highly depended on individual opinion on physical activity, be it as their hobby or not, while difficulty to understand the issue is moderate without much theoretical and highly jargon to the group.
BACKGROUND STUDY
The terms “physical activity” and “exercise” have often been used interchangeably. Physical activity is “bodily movement that is produced by the contraction of skeletal muscle and that substantially increases energy expenditure”. Although the terms are similar in that they involve any bodily movement that expends energy, exercise is a subset of physical activity that has been defined as “planned, structured, and repetitive bodily movement done to improve or maintain one or more components of physical fitness” and physical fitness is “a set of attributes that people have or achieve that relates to the ability to perform physical activity”. To learn about the impact of environmental influences on all domains of physical activity, researchers have recently begun to collect reliable data on the forms of physical activity apart from leisure time (or recreational) physical activity.
Physical activities can be simplified as a collective definition of sport, martial arts and other activity that can be considered as physical activities. In another definition, physical activity simply means movement of the body that uses energy. Walking, gardening, briskly pushing a baby stroller, climbing the stairs, playing soccer, or dancing at night are all good examples of being physically active. In this report physical activity is considered as the sport activity, exercise, martial arts an...

...This study is to understanding the Involvement of Student in Physical Activities throughout their Study Period. There are a few factors that related to the involvement of the student in the physical activities such as sport, martial arts and other activity that can be considered as physical activities. For this chapters it tells about what is physical activities and how does it affect the study of a student. There is a significant amount of information available on student involvement the activities. In the chapter 2 reviews current research and literature related to the themes of this study: the involvement of the student in physical activity through their study, and the theories that back this research. Chapter 3 describes study research methods; chapter 4, the results of this study; and chapter 5, the summary, conclusions, and recommendations of this study.
This article used a mixed method approach to assess the physical activity of 85 students at a public school in Denmark. Data was collected using observation, group interview, an accelerometer, and GPS. Both analyses showed very similar data. The data was broken down into three groups; building, school yard, and field. The students in the building category were the least active and the students in the field category were the most active. The researchers noticed that the students in the building were mainly female and the field was majority boys.
Pate et al. (1995) stated that physical activity is needed for health promotion and disease prevention. They also stated that every adult should do at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise everyday if possible. Moderate intensity exercising includes activities such as brisk walking and cycling as stated by the Department of Health (2011). They also state that regular physical activity will improve a person’s mental health as it will increase self esteem and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Physical wellbeing is also enhanced by an increase in physical activity. The World Health Organisation (WHO) (2002) found that in developed countries 20% of heart disease and 10% of strokes are due to physical inactivity. Furthermore a lack of physical activity is found to cause 3% of all diseases.
Due to the strong and growing evidence in scientific literature on the beneficial effects of physical activity on health and well-being, the importance of Clinical Exercise Science has increased. Physical activity is defined as any bodily movement produced by skeletal muscles that requires energy expenditure. Exercise, is a subcategory of physical activity that is planned, structured, repetitive, and purposeful in the sense that the improvement or maintenance of one or more components of physical fitness is the objective (http://www.who.int/dietphysicalactivity/pa/en/; last accessed on 30 April 2016). Generally speaking, Clinical Exercise Science is an applied clinical branch which deals with the application of various exercise modalities for
This paper examines the issues associated to the disengagement of students in the health and physical education domain. Typically traditional curriculums have shown to foster anxiety and create undesirable competition amongst students through fitness testing. It is critical to understand the reasons behind the issues of why students are disengaging in the participation of physical education, as the sedentary behavior is becoming a major factor in the obesity epidemic.
Physical activity is the amount of energy your body burns up during normal, daily activities to include housework, recreation,
Movement is one of the most highly debated topics among teachers today, as every individual has his/her own opinions in their teaching philosophy. Teachers must get around barriers caused by the high priorities of standardized testing and low effort to include movement in their classroom; therefore, it puts too much stress on the general education teachers. There are insufficient amounts of space to complete activities requiring movement when in a classroom; therefore, the teachers are incapable of safely navigating students around the room. Some students will refuse to participate in different physical activities, causing frustration when teachers are trying to plan full class activities, and this takes away from academic instruction. It is often that educators exclude these physical activities from the classroom due to stress that is put on the schools to perform higher academically; however, studies show exercise may be a large factor in the student’s performance. There are so many ways to incorporate movement into the lessons that increase the students’ academic achievements while motivating them. As space is limited in the classroom, during the warmer months, teachers can use the outdoors as an engaging experience to refresh the students’ minds and prepare them for new lessons. Physical activities can also be used to reinforce information that was previously taught during lessons to increase the student’s knowledge of the topic. Opinions vary from one person to another, but there is only one way to find the effects that exercise has on the student’s abilities. Physical activity should be incorporated into the classroom because it promotes cognition and academic achievement, improves student behavior and attitud...
Coalter et al. (1994) illustrated that those who stayed in education after the minimal school leaving age had higher rates of sports participation than the school leavers. This statement inspired the author of this review to research, and essentially ascertain what implications and constraints occur in an adolescent and adult environment when considering participating in sport.
Sports programs have been an integral part of all schools. They support the academics of the school and therefore foster success in life. These programs are educational and help produce productive citizenship. They help students experience and build skills that may help them in their future, like interpersonal and time management skills. Education may kindle the light of knowledge, but sports help to maintain the proper physique. Sports are also an important means of entertainment and a use for energy after long hours of study. Sports increase a student’s performance not only in the classroom but also in their life.
Opponents of physical education in schools state that gym is not the best way to utilize students’ time. Students’ should be given the choice to participate in gym class or not because many students aren’t as athletic and don’t enjoy it enough to want to do it in school. Despite this downfall, PE is important in students’ life and even though some don’t enjoy it as much, they need it in order to be successful in life. If not, diseases and health risks could come up and it wouldn’t be robust. Ultimately, physical education provides superior benefits.

Sedentary lifestyles have greatly contributed to obesity, and to the diseases affecting to the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. It has been shown that physical inactivity reduces our strength, results in low energy levels, and causes obesity. It is therefore very essential to ensure we that lead a physically active life. Exercising regularly is the key to a healthy life. However, this is hampered by factors like lack of motivation, time and money.
Physical fitness is not only the vital keys to a healthy body; it is the source of active and creative intellectual movement. Surprise! Why health-alert person pay so much awareness to their regular exercises and their foods? Well, if you have been neglecting the suggestion of others on the significance of physical fitness and are unwilling to abandon your inactive lifestyle and unhealthful eating practice, it is time to awaken and smell the coffee.
Physical education is an important area in schools today. If taught correctly, it can develop physical and mental skills as well as develop a sense of self. By participating in physical activity, a student’s skill will naturally increase to the demands placed upon it. If a student never tries then their skill will never grow. The mental skills one develops in a physical education class are proble...

Just like the phrase ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ physical exercise can do the same. By exercising, your body becomes stronger and healthier. An active lifestyle provides a number of benefits. Evidence is growing that for most Americans, becoming physically active may be the single most important lifestyle change for promoting health and wellbeing. Exercise benefits a person’s overall wellness because it can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve mental health and mood.
