On the day of January 30, 1933 Adolf Hitler became the chancellor of Germany. You are about to learn what the rights and responsibilities of the Jews in Nazi Germany where.

Adolf Hitler used propaganda throughout Germany to brainwash people to believe that that “the Jews are our misfortune”. Some of the tools that he used as propaganda against the Jews was the weekly newspaper called the “der sturmer” which meant the attacker. At the front of all the newspapers it said in bold that the Jews are our misfortune. There were also many cartoons that showed Jews as if they were hooked-nosed. The influence of the newspaper was spreading fast and by 1938 almost half a million copies where distributed a week.

Lots of horrible stuff happened in the holocaust. Shep Zitler is a survivor of the holocaust. In February 1939 shep was drafted into the polish army. The Jews would live on one side of the street while the poles lived on the other side. The main languages they spoke where Yiddish and Russian. His lieutenant was named walchek and on the door to his office there was a sign that said in all capitols “ENTRY IS FORBIDDEN TO JEWS AND DOGS”. On September 1, 1939 the war started. When Germany invaded Poland, Poland lost in 16 days. Shep was with the 77th pulk piechoty and they were captured and where taken to a prisoner of war camp around Kielce. Lots of people where dying daily because there was such a lack of food. Shep was forced to load coal at the camp called ludwigsdorf. Minute by minute Jews were being singled out for special treatment. When he went to goerlitz he had to clean poop and urine from the toilets with his bare hands. The Germans would always pick the Jews to do all the dangerous and dirtiest jobs

Heremembered that the door was bolted shut and all their metal shades were down to try and protect all the windows. When it was over there was graffiti everywhere with swastikas and writings that said “kauft nicht bei juden” which meant do not buy from Jews; they also wrote “die juden sind unser ungluck” which meant Jews are our misfortune. Those were both the most commonly known Nazi slogan. The storm troopers were also there to make sure that no one would go into the stores even though the doors were locked. It was mainly to show force towards the Jews.

These are many of the rights and responsibilities of the Jews during the holocaust. During the holocaust around 6,000,000 Jews were killed and are still remembered to this day.
