About 3,030,000 drop out annually and 8,300 students drop out every day. Why do students drop out of high school? Well it is known many students drop out for many reasons. Students drop out because of the community they come from. With the community they come has to do with the peers they hang around and how the community views them as. Many students who come from a low income community are known to be the most to drop out. They do this only because some who view them to get a higher education are being “to higher class, for their own taste”.
A second reason a teenager may drop out of high school is because of grades. When students see their grades are low they feel “well if I’m not getting good grades; I don’t have much of an education, why should I move on?” also with getting bad grades it could be a student has a learning disorder. With a disorder, a student may get unnoticed about it and still move into the education system. Well when child is unnoticed about their disorder they get behind and get lower grades in the subject. ...is question is tossed around all the time with teenagers who tend to drop out. Also a child may come from an addictive home background. When a child comes from this background they find it a struggle to concentrate on education and such. They may worry about siblings or even working to pay the bills the parent(s) uses to get the drugs they need. With peers a teenager comes to a lot to peer pressure. This is when a teenager tries to figure out what is right, and what is wrong? A student may hang around the wrong crowd and be pressured to ditch class or be doing the same thing as their peer.
So it is important as an educator or a parent to advise your child or children to stay in school and get an education. Show them where it can take them, how far that diploma and work will go. How education is important, and how it is going to be used a lot in their future.
Evidently, “a lot of other people” agree with Beebe. A total of 3,030,000 students drop out of high school annually. Broken down, that’s 8,300 a day, 857 per hour. The numbers are staggering.
For some students, dropping out is the culmination of years academic hurdles, missteps, and wrong turns. For others, the decision to drop out is a response to conflicting life pressures -- the need to help support their family financially or the demands of caring for siblings or their own child. College students drop out of school because the classes are too hard, students are too lazy, and do not go to class, or there partying too much and not enough studying. Look, college is hard enough for those that are motivated. According to Ivory Tower Arizona State University, the number one party school in the United States has 76,000 students enroll in ASU per year. Which means there are around 240 students in a lecture hall while there are only 40% facility on campus. Students do not do well in college and want to drop out because the class room size is way too big and the college is short staffed. When you go to a big college with 240 students in a class you are just a number to the professor because he is not going to try to remember your name or try to help you pass the class. He is just there to teach and get paid. In college students study less than 5 hours a week and that is less than an hour a day. In a semester class students write less than 20 pages of notes. Since, students are not motivated in studying for school that causes the students to fail tests which leads to failing the class which leads to lowing there GPA and also the college GPA and that leads to students dropping out of college. The Ivory Tower states in 4 years 68% of college students drop out. Every University that has a lecture hall during the first week of orientation the professor says to the students look to you left and look to your right because only one of you are going to be here in the end the rest are going to drop out of the class or even drop out of college. Students are not motivated in learning the material are they want are blow off classes so they can pass the class with little or no effort that they got to put in.
Teenagers dropping out of high school affect every single person in America. However, most people do not understand why they should personally concern themselves with one of the most stereotyped subsets of the United States’ population. One unacknowledged fact about dropouts is that they will, over the course of their lifetime, cost the United States government $72,000 while high school graduates will benefit the government $315,000 (Emery). This affects every person in America. Taxpayers and their families are forced to pay for the services high school dropouts need. Such services include food stamps, welfare, incarceration costs, and even healthcare. Since high school dropouts are expected to make drastically less money than their classmates who did graduate, they need to rely on the aforementioned services at some point in their life; some high school dropouts rely on government assistance throughout their entire life. High school dropouts are also 63 times more likely to become incarcerated than college graduates (Breslow). This also puts a huge strain on taxpayers and their families with the cost to run prisons rising each year.

For students do not comprehend the importance of changing more than their location during the transition. A student must be psychologically, physically, and emotionally mature to pursue college and not venture into a point of no return. Dropping out of college makes the outlook of the conversion difficult to acquire. Individuals should take their time on deciding which college and/or university is the best match for them. There are various reasons that cause persons not to prosper. Issues that individuals may come upon might leave a lifelong scar. Matters such as these should not be as prevalent, creating a problem in the future for the well-being of our local communities and nation. High school can be tough for many teenagers. Some students may feel as if the classes they are taking are boring or the material being taught will not help them later on in life. These students begin to not show up for class and then their grades start lowering drastically. Next, these students come up with the idea that dropping out is the easiest and fastest way to escape all the stress that is caused by academics. However, they need to start looking at the bigger picture and asking themselves if quitting school is going to help them reach their personal goals. Most people want to live a life filled with laughter and have the least amount of trouble as possible. Because of adolescence, they may think that school is “nothing”, it is just a waste of time. Also, facts have been saying that more and more students are being independent related to the school. A good reason that they are independent is that they want to have their own money. However, when we don’t know how to say no and face whatever problems may cause, we often use to drop out of college to avoid difficulties.

Sometimes teenagers may struggle with certain actions which may lead to them being depressed. These causes maybe, academic pressure from parents, bullying, verbal abuse, and chronic illness. Parents' most times place high academic expectations on their kids, not considering the child’s academic ability. Another major reason that students responded is that they had too much freedom and not enough rules. In other words, they feel that they were able to do whatever they wanted. Therefore, they missed class whenever they pleased because they taught it was not important and that nobody would care. Teachers and school administrators need to be strict regarding to attendance. Students need to see that it is really important to attend school everyday so that they attend in a regular basis.
