One of the most memorable days in U.S History, the day Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. The morning of December 7, 1941, the United States naval base conducted a surprise military strike killing wounding over one thousand men and killing about two thousand, leaving America in shock. President Woodrow Wilson had no intention of the U.S entering the war between the Axis powers, which consisted of Germany, Italy, and Japan, and the Allies, which was Great Britain, France, and the Soviet Union. He was left with no choice after the attack, and the U.S. had officially entered the war. The real question is why Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, since the U.S was neutral during the time of the attack. The three reasons that caused the attack were Japans New Order of expansion, the U.S embargo, and the U.S fleet expansion and the freezing of japans assets in the U.S. All these events lead up to a destructive day that will never be forgotten throughout American History.
