Ray Charles one of the greatest African-American artists of all time. He left a legacy of hits and Grammy awards, but the musicians he influenced were very diverse in genre as the music he wrote, arranged, performed, and recorded. Ray Charles died at the age of 73 on June 10, 2004 from acute liver disease. Months after his death on October 29, 2004 the movie Ray was released to the U.S on a budget of forty million dollars. The film went on to become a box-office hit, earning over $100 million dollars with an additional $75 million internationally. It ended up with a worldwide gross of over $175 million.
The main characters consisted of musician and actor Jamie Foxx as the lead role of Ray Charles. Sharon Warren plays as Charles’s mother, Aretha Williams. Kerry Washington plays as Charles’s wife, Della Bea Robinson. Regina King plays as Margie Hendricks, Renee Wilson as Pat Lyle, Larenz Tate as Quincy Jones, Harry Lennix as Joe Adams,Clifton Powell as Jeff Brown, Curtis Armstrong as Ahmet Ertegun, Richard Schiff as Jerry Wexler, and Kurt Fuller as Sam Clark. My overall impression of this movie that it was a great movie and I believe that Jamie Foxx played an excellent role of Ray Charles because of Foxx’s musician background. I learned about the real life of Ray Charles and about how he struggled, but made it into the music business given that he was a blind man and he had an amazing gift for creating music. I also learned about how he in essence he created the genre that we now have today called R&B which is a mix of all different kinds of black music such as gospel blues and more. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone that likes to learn about how modern music originated.

The movie Malcolm X was very well portrayed by Spike Lee. It is historically accurate in the life of Malcolm X. It showed many of the struggles that he faced in making black history. The movie Malcolm X showed all the emotion of the original events, and it made the audience feel like they were reliving history. Some may not agree with Malcolm's point of view. However, the movie is accurate, as well as thrilling, and it pulls the audience into it. There is superb emotion and feeling. In all, the movie Malcolm X is a historically accurate movie of the true life of Malcolm Little.

The movie's accuracy to the historical events were spot on tho they did not happen in chronological order but the way it was presented in the movie was great enough. The people within the film acted as if they were the citizens of the past. The film really didn't miss too many main details or stray away from the story of Malcolm if a drastic way. The point of view the film chose was the personal POV of Malcolm Little later known as Red and eventually known as Malcolm X. Non-historical events didn't really occur in the movie but Malcolms arrest scene as been altered from the real thing. Throughout history there have been many people who have stood out and made an impact in the way we think and comprehend things. During the late 1950's and early 1960's, Malcolm X was no exception. His militant views that Western nations were inherently racist and that black people must join together to build their own society and value system had an important influence on black nationalist and black separatist movements of the 1950s and 1960s. At the beginning of the movie, Malcolm X was born Malcolm Little. He was a young child trying to adapt to society's changes. He was looking so hard that he fell into the wrong crowd.
Not long after this did Martin die at the age of 30 by a man named James Earl Ray. Martin made a huge impact on racism. He even stopped some of the segregated things going on such as the bus boycott. He won many awards including being the youngest man to win a nobel peace prize. He became a symbol of nonviolent protest for equal rights for blacks. Furthermore, he overcame his struggles in a peaceful manner.
He starred in 33 successful films, made history with his television appearances and specials, and knew great acclaim through his many, often record-breaking, live concert performances on tour and in Las Vegas. Globally, he has sold over one billion records, more than any other artist. Stevie Ray Vaughan is a legend and was a leading figure in the blues-rock genre. Vaughan was born in Dallas, Texas in October of 1954. (Dutton) He was exposed to music early on in his childhood watching big bother Jimmie Vaughan play guitar. By the age of 14 Vaughan was playing in Dallas blues clubs. (Simon, 2001) When he played he demanded the audience’s attention and had a sound of blues meets Jimi Hendrix. (Wenner, 2011) His fame was based mainly in central Texas. It was not until he played at a party thrown by Mick Jagger that his band Double Trouble got their big break when David Bowie as Vaughan to perform on his upcoming album Let’s Dance. (Stevie Ray Vaughan, 2013.) He became a pretty big success and his fan base grew to places outside of Texas. In 1985 Stevie became the first white performer to win the W.C. Handy Foundation’s Blues Entertainer of the Year award. (Simon, 2001) After a performance in August of 1990 Vaughan got on a helicopter bound for Chicago that crashed into mountains due to fog just minutes after taking off killing everyone onboard. (“Stevie Ray Vaughan”, 2013.) His legacy still lives on to this day with an ever-growing fan base.
The title of the movie is "Radio." It is rated PG, and is directed by Mike Tollin. It is based on a true story about James Robert "Radio" Kennedy who is played by an academy award winner, Cuba Gooding Jr. Another main character is Coach Harold Jones, who is played by Ed Harris; he also played in the 1997 film "Jerry McGuire." The studio that made the grade A film was Revolution Studios. The first day the movie was released in theaters was October 24, 2003. (Also, the movie lasts 105 minutes, but will have your full attention the whole time.) Radio inspired his hometown's football team to win a championship, even after it didn't accept him at first.
I have always believed that all races have their good and bad. Their is never going to be the perfect race. This movie definitely set a powerful message that life is not perfect for any race and that even though people are from different cultures, they are all interconnected somehow. The filmmakers did a great job at showing us that individuals should not be based on first impressions such as skin color or the social status.
Although I enjoyed the main portion of the movie, there were some obvious likes and dislikes in my opinion. I believe that I learned from this movie and it helped me understand more of what the people of that time were feeling.
