I entered college with a mindset prepared to learn, write and do work. However, I was not familiar with the amount of work that I would be receiving. I was also unaware of how quickly we would be going through the information in the textbooks. This came as a shock to me because all of this would be happening in such a short amount of time. When I saw the English syllabus for the first time, I panicked and thought “oh my goodness”, how am I going to do all of this. I read through the syllabus over three times and never was I able to answer that question.
The second thought that ran through my mind was about my professor. Who is she? Is she nice? Is she exciting? My cousin told me to create a good impression on my professor and make sure I have one that I am able to talk to and go to when I had questions about my lecture. His advice stood out to me because when I was in ninth grade I tested into college English and the professor was never available when I had a question. He also felt that I did not belong in his class because of my age and tried to make my entire experience in his class miserable, which he succeeded in doing. However, when I entered English 101 at George Mason, my professor was the total opposite.
My first day in English was fun. I enjoyed it, and I felt like I belonged there. I liked the fact that the class size was small and not the size of a lecture group, because I came from a small high school. There were only 15 students in my graduating class and English class and I feel that I am able to learn, retain, and grasp information much better in a smaller setting compared to if I were in a classroom with 50 people.
I think that everything in your class gets straight to the point and is easily accessible to ...
... middle of paper ...
...my own.
Although, certain aspects of the class have been a hassle I feel that I have made much progress in my writing. I appreciate all of the comments and corrections that you leave on my paper because that enables me to focus on what I need to do in order to write an A+ paper. Sometimes I am in shock when I look back at some of the writing that I have done because I cannot believe that I have written them. I also have enjoyed doing the research exercises because I have learned so much about the library and how much it has to offer. Many of the problems that I have encountered within this class have been solved by me asking you various questions over email and just going back and looking at what I have done wrong on papers, quizzes and etc.
I look forward to finishing out the semester with you and cannot wait to see the final outcome of my research paper.
1302 Ready! I should receive a passing grade in this class because I can write now. Not just an exaggeration, but after another semester of English I finally feel confident that can write. Three of the reasons behind my confidence is I learned, I experienced and best of all I repeated. These three values helped prepare me for what is in store in English 1302 and here is why. First of all learning is the key to moving forward your education. If you allow yourself to learn, you will further your

I am always a student that is always on time and does my homework, and does well in school. But my thought on class quickly changed as soon as I walked into the classroom. Its packed the only spot left is the seat in the back-left corner by the window I was even fifteen minutes early. As the professor walks in and begins to write the notes on the board, I am
Put First Things First Successful people learn how to focus on the big picture by doing the most important tasks first. The key to becoming successful is to prioritize what is important in life, and to do this a person must learn how to “put first things first.” The people who become successful know that being able to organize, being prepared and having self-disciplined is the key to personal management. Without those tools, you would be a mess and you would have trouble prioritizing the tasks
While the Millennials are getting their lives together for the future that is yet to come, many generation x members are debating whether Millennials are ready to take in charge of their world and the generations to come. It’s not a surprise that the generation x members are depleting. It 's human nature for one generation to die out, and the other to come in and take its place. This is what is happing at this very moment. The generation x population is fading away and it’s up to the millennials
that I might not be prepared for college classes is a weight I have bore on my shoulders. One of my goals has always been to lift the stress of college classes off my back and have the assurance that I am ready for the challenges that are ahead of me. Since day one of high school, being engaged while learning has been my biggest desire so that I am well prepared for the next step in life: college. My first semester in college told me a lot about myself and I think the most important thing I learned was that small schools are not beneficial to me, some students love the feeling of individualized learning within a small college but as a student I could tell early on that this style of learning was not for me. While I feel like I do well in class, the lack of fellow students that I get along with is surprisingly large I ended the semester with no one to help me study or even really another person
a 24 year old college graduate living in Chicago, IL and working two part-time jobs trying to make ends meet. He has been struggling to find full time work in a fierce job market due to a slow economy. students finish their last year of high school and get ready to take on college they will realize that they are not even close to being ready to take on the next step of life. success.” College is a constant struggle. Some people struggle to make it to class on time, to get their homework done or to find time to study while working a part time job. Some people have help in college, so they don’t have to worry about money problems or wonder if they can afford books. But there are three necessary tools everyone needs to survive college: motivation
College English is a big difference compared to how high school English was taught. Many differences that I have noticed with these few past weeks that I have been here at Fresno State University would be how the group exercises are structured, how the professor shows interest about the student’s improvements with their work, and how the course materials are presented to the class. High school was not the greatest experience that I could have had during my educational years. Many of my teachers that
