a) Why is it a problem to create a favourable ecosystem for mosquitoes?

It is a problem because old worn-out tires can burn. Another problem is that a mosquito’s ecosystem is in worn-out tires. So when the rain water is warmed by the sun it is good for hatching eggs, but when the water evaporates the eggs die.

b) Used tires are often stored in one area and then moved to another area for disposal. What problem might this cause?

When the worn-out tires are moved to a different area or ecosystem the mosquitoes will spread around and bother others, but also cause diseases.

c) Why did scientists want to reduce the number of mosquitoes? Scientists wanted to reduce the number of mosquitoes because they carried microbes that cause a disease called Malaria. This disease made many people in tropical area’s and in different places die. Malaria is a disease that infects your blood cells.
