Recommended: Essay on leadership and followers

In lecture this week, I have learned about ‘Leadership and Followership’. Before this chapter, I thought that leadership and management were similar; however, after the lecture, I understood that leadership and management were two distinct aspects. I have learned that leadership means the art of motivating a group of people towards to achieve a target. In comparison, management means the process of planning, organizing, leading, controlling human and resources efficiently to achieve a target.
The topic described about trait theories, behavior theories, contingency theories, recent leadership theories, emerging issues in leadership and followership. The main argument throughout the topic was ‘What makes a good leader?’ It has been argued that leaders are born with natural assets. On the other hand, people argued that leader can be trained. Personally, I think leaders are born with natural assets; however, leaders can also be trained by adopting the key characteristics of a good leader.
