Honor: as I see it!
Honor as we know it: Is what a person stands for, who one is, ones level of respect. Honor is not just a word, but more of a statement of your character. Moreover, honor is a word that is not taken lightly. Thy, shall honor thy mother and thy father, thy neighbor, thy brother/man these are words from the bible “the word of GOD.” Honor is respect that is given to someone who is admired. Merriam and Webster dictionary stated “good quality or character as judged by other people, high moral standards of behavior.” One would say that honor is how one perceives one’s self while presenting one’s self with esteem, maintaining a good reputation, and having high respect for one’s self or others. Honor is also said to be the assessment of a person's credibility and social status based on choices one makes. Honor is rectitude, morality, honorableness, respectability, honesty, principle, righteousness, decency, and integrity. These are all qualities one should aspire to have.
In addition, Honor is to be a person of integrity, to always do what you say you’re going to do because; your word is your bond. To have honor means that one is true to his/her own beliefs not to the standards others have set for you. Not changing the things one value most in order to impress others. Showing others respect, letting them know you are listening and considering what they say and not taking them for granted. Honor is acknowledgment of something someone did or just deserved, based on ones actions. On the other hand, honor is the men and women serving their country fighting for the rights of others. The military men and women, police officers, FBI agents, CIA, DEA, ATF, and fire fighters and the many other people who serve their country...

In conclusion, honor represents a large portion of our society our standard of morals and our ethical decision making. Having a strong sense of moral integrity in character or actions speaks volume for a person. Not to mention, having the ability to inspire belief, respect, integrity or trust in others reflect highly on ones character. Belonging or relating to an aristocratic social or political class or possessing high ideals reveals an excellent moral character of one an honorable person. Honor is a title that is given or earned based on your morals, beliefs and your character. Morality, honorableness, respectability, righteousness, decency, and integrity are all qualities that are represented by an honorable person. An honorable person is someone who deserves the title, and they possess traits that they should desired by all.
