Finding Solutions to the Problems of Education

Problems of education connect to funding, teacher quality and the status of the teaching profession, student academic performance and standardized testing, racial imbalances, and equal educational opportunity. The lack of parental involvement seems to be a problem for education also. Parental involvement in their child's education makes them feel good about themselves. They usually have higher grades; higher test scores on standardized tests, classroom assessments and at arrive at school all the time. It is important to have quality teachers that care about the students and that encourage parents on how important it is to be involved with their child’s education. The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) law took effect in 2002; it has had a broad impact on U.S. public school classrooms.

Educational problems should be on the government’s agenda, because education is the most costly of all state and local functions. Local governments spend a large portion of their budget on education than state government. The local educators know the specific needs of their students far better than the state. The government decides what qualifications teachers must have, what types of rates and taxes shall be levied for education, and many other decisions that affect the life of every child in America that way every child will be able to get the same education. The government offers grants, loans and scholarships for higher education includes teaching, research and social services activities of universities, and within the realm of teaching. Higher education is therefore very important to national economies.

... children will learn in nurturing schools. Schools need a Legislature that is willing to work as a problem-solving team with educators in mutual respect and concern. Most public schools are administered by local governments; the overall funding is contributed by the local, state and federal governments. The policies for each stage are set by the board members, elected under local jurisdiction. Pros for the community are increase partner to meet goals (e.g. education goals), utilize the expertise of the schools, share resources, have input on development/redevelopment of school property. Cons for the community are the community is response for all the work under the permit, implement programs across a wider area, manage more cooperative agreements if there is more than one school under the jurisdiction who wants to partner.
