Recommended: Evaluation of a website

Website Evaluation www.apple.com.my The purpose of website evaluation is to identify the quality and accuracy of the information found on the web. User rarely to evaluate the information found on the website. What are they want is only the information that they are searching for and if they cannot find the information, they simply jump to another website without evaluate it first. There are several criteria used to evaluate the quality of the website. The user must take time to evaluate the accuracy of the information because not all the information published on websites is true and reliable, so the users need to be smart in evaluating the content of the websites. In this report, the website of Apple Malaysia has been chosen to be evaluated. Figure 1 Figure 1 shows the main page of the website. As we can see here, the content is well organized. Although the purpose of this website is not clearly stated, but user will know that the website contains information about the products of Apple. As the website is developed for business purpose, it provides services for the user such as online purchase and other technical support. In terms of accuracy, all the information in the website is reliable and accurate. This is because the website is listed in the main website of Apple and the URL is verified. Other than that, the information in the website can be browsed by clicking the button that are clearly labeled and well organized. The buttons on the top of the website will assist the user to navigate the whole content in the website. Next, design is an important consideration. Website can provide the user with useful information but if the design and layout of the website is not attractive, it is useless.
