Procrastination is many people’s weakness. It is the action of delaying or postponing something. The definition seems simple but it is not easy to overcome. Procrastination makes easy things hard, hard things harder. Sometimes we will even give up and never put into practice. The real tragedy of Hamlet was caused by Hamlet’s procrastination. Many people’s lives were destroyed by Hamlet’s delayed vengeance including him.
First of all, Polonius was killed by Hamlet by mistake after he missed a good chance to assassinate King Claudius. Hamlet saw Claudius praying alone without any alert after the Mousetrap play. Hamlet could kill him easily and get away without any difficulties and trouble. Nobody around Hamlet and himself would be affected and hurt if he assassinated Claudius. However, Hamlet did not take the action. He overthought that killing Claudius while he was confessing his sins would send him to heaven instead of hell. It would not be revenge anymore but to do him a favour. This decision led to a tragedy that many innocent people around Hamlet were killed. The first victim is ...
