Honestly speaking, I feel that my greatest achievement is yet to come. I believe that I will face greater challenges which will give me greater sense of satisfaction from conquering them and these challenges will enable me to grow a person. My greatest achievement so far is to overcome my fear of failure.
I used to be afraid of failure as I have a rather smooth-sailing life and have always excelled academically and hence I only had few brushes with failure before. As I was constantly surrounded by high achievers, failure was . I was afraid of rejection, disappointing others, not reaping the desired reward for the hard work I put in and embarrassing myself.
I was quite unsettled when I only scored an A2 for Higher Chinese, one of my weaker subject as the result was not proportional to the amount of effort I invested. I would write 2 essays weekly, conscientiously practice mock papers, follow up on current affairs and reflect on them and compile/memorise a list of useful phrases and meaning of unfamiliar words.
