Yasin: Mr. Shakespeare may I ask, can you briefly describe the four main characters (Hamlet, ghost of King Hamlet, Claudius, and Ophelia) in your play Hamlet?
Shakespeare: Yes, I describe Hamlet as melancholy, bitter, and cynical, full of hatred for his uncle’s scheming of his father’s death. As well, Hamlet is considerably indecisive and hesitant, and at other times thinks irrationally and makes impulsive decisions. Claudius is the current King of Denmark after his notorious murderer of King Hamlet, Claudius is also Hamlet’s uncle, and the play’s antagonist. The villain of the play, Claudius is ambitious and driven by his leadership which he is not suited prepared for physically and mentally. Shakespeare, may I ask what inspired you to create such a magnificent play?

Shakespeare: Throughout my life I faced numerous deaths, including my beloved sister Anne who died at the age 7, my father who died in September 1601 when I was 37 years old, and my own son who died at the age 11. These deaths inspired me to create the play Hamlet.

He also does this since it isn’t difficult for him to pretend insanity because his father's death left a big toll and one way that I portrayed this is by making Hamlet wear black. Black shows a person mourning and having depressed feelings. Another way that being crazy is believable to Elsinore is by having his uncle, now stepdad, to marry his father. This illustrates frustration in Hamlet since he says, “My father’s brother, but no more like thy my father than I Hercules.
