Working With and Managing People Working with others may sometimes be a struggle, but I have managed to work with the people around me pretty well. I always try to keep a positive attitude when working alongside others and I also try to get along with everybody. Problems can often occur with fellow workers or with production, but I always keep myself calm in order to fully understand the situation and to figure out ways to resolve the problem. I have had some experience managing people in the past, but I have never held the title of manager or supervisor. In past jobs, I only supervised other workers in the absence of the managers. I believe everyone is created equal and should be treated equal. In no case should acts of discriminations be permitted. Any sort of discrimination that occurs in the workplace may create a hostile work environment for the workers and thus should not be tolerated. I always attempt to never judge anyone by their race, religion or other differences that they may have. I believe forming a prejudiced opinion about a person is unfair. Although it is not possible to restrict prejudice thoughts, outspoken acts of discrimination should not only be banned from workplaces, but should be made sure that they do not occur. If acts of discrimination do occur, it should be dealt with properly and not just ignored. I attempt to not say or do anything that would be considered discriminatory to others. I always greet new people with a positive and friendly attitude. I always try to have peaceful and respectful relationships with my coworkers. Since interactions between employer and associates are always occurring, it is important to acquire and maintain a respectful and pleasant relationship. Also, strong employer and associate relations may lead to an increase in productivity. A poor relationship may affect production or the company in a negative way. I have always tried to maintain a positive relationship with my past and present employers so that the work environment I experience is friendly and productive. It is also important to keep a pleasant relationship so that both the employer and associate can easily come to an understanding in certain situations that may require it.
