Woman in America were a lot more involved in the 1920s, in many ways. Once the war came about, most of the men were sent to fight. Once all the men were gone factories were low on people to do the work. Not to mention all the new orders to help the men out in the war and supplies needed to fight. The only option was to hire the women who had husbands in the war. The woman also needed these jobs because now that their husbands were off to war they had no income for groceries, bills and other expenses. Women's employment rate was increased by 25 percent.

Woman made another huge leap during this time. They were given the right to vote. Woman fought hard to earn this right, after all they were still looked at as less than men. They steadily …show more content…

For example now women are police officers, firefighters, and many other “man” places of employment. Women are also starting to get involved in the combat part of war. They aren't fully there but are rapidly getting closer. We also had a woman run for president, even if she didn't win, in my opinion that is an amazing accomplishment for woman in a considerably short amount of time for where they started.

The prohibition lasted from 1920 to 1933, although it did not stop everyone from participating in alcoholic activities. When alcohol was banned people were shocked and enraged. There were many conflicts, some violent and some not. Consumers still wanted alcohols no matter what the rules were, this created what people call “Bootleggers”. Bootleggers are people whom still make,sell, and run alcohol. There were bootleggers all over the united states. The prohibition made a lot of things happen.
