What I would like to reach to is that you should change one rule, which is "no chewing gum" to make it okay for us to chew gum in class. As I see that some of the reasons we aren't allowed to chew gum is because some students stick it on the wall, chairs, and in the table. Although it is disgusting, we really want to chew gum. Therefore, i highly recommend you to make us chew gum in school. so please allow us to chew gum because it allows us to concentrate more. Having short passing periods can make a student’s grade go down or worse when students are late to class. This can be prevented by extending passing periods to 10 minutes. Although the staff at H.P.M.S may disapprove, but in the long run, they will see the effects of having longer passing periods has on students. Because of the short time of passing periods, students at Happy Place Middle School are petitioning to extend their passing period time to 10 minutes. In short, some of the positive effects are that students can get to class on time, and gives students and teachers time to prepare.

Accordingly, my first change to the rules is a requirement of all classes to give 2 days for homework. In the average life I am more likely to have one week to complete something rather than one day. School should give you an asset for the future which will be time management with an extended time to finish work. Furthermore, students shall be allowed to use their cell phones while in the halls. Students tend to respect authority when authority gives them something in return. The right to use phones in the hallway is respecting the students, hence they will teach the teachers and other staff with the upmost respect. To conclude my miniscule rant about the current rules, I would grant all students permission to listen to music during assignments that are independent. People in general tend to have more focus on a given task when sounds they enjoy and are familiar surround them. With this change in effect I can almost assure an increase in grades and effort in general.
Low-cost meals are not worth the price of the medical bills that are promised to come and it is still very possible for schools to distribute nutritional lunches for an affordable price. It is necessary for legislation to make the change. Furthermore, it is ridiculous that emotional disorder numbers among adolescents have skyrocketed due to the lack body image, which is highly influenced by the way the eat. Therefore, it should be encouraged for schools to improve their meals, but that is only going to be achieved if a series are strict laws are placed, limiting calorie, sugar, fat, carbohydrate, pesticide, and other chemical intake. Lastly, Americans have always focused on exams and performance in a classroom environment, but they ignore the fact that what students eat, highly influence their performance. In my opinion, I would say no to the banning of candy and soda. We should be eligible to eat what we want and the government shouldn't interfere with our decisions. It makes it seem that we won’t learn anything if they decide to ban it, rather than banning soda and candy, they should encourage students to make the right decisions for themselves. Students should also be encouraged to be taught more about what it may do for you instead of just banning it, because they might lack information about what it may cause or in what way they are unhealthy.

Let’s be honest, it isn’t right for schools to take away these things from the students. Candy and soda is what we snack on to hold off until lunch.
