Imagine, going to a lab with your classmates, your whole class is learning about how scientists do experiments on animals; At first you think that it won’t be so bad, until you see a giant needle go into an innocent animals body. You step away and you feel really bad for what all of these animals are going to get once they step out of their cages. You want to help, but you don’t know what to do. On and on, animals have been repeatedly taken out of their homes, just to test out food or medicine. Therefore, animals should not be used for experimentation. They shouldn’t be used for experiments because overall, 95% of animals are used for experiments, but mostly rat and mice. According to John Ericson from,“Building a Better Lab Rat,” “Each year more than 25 million animals are used for experiments, 90% of those animals are mice and rats.” The scientists mostly do experiments on mice because they are basically stand-ins for people. Also, while scientists are doing …show more content…

If it is not the right food for humans to eat or to use for medications, then the animals would probably die or they would get an illness from the toxic food. Also, to make sure the food is ok, the farmers or scientists see if that animal dies or lives. According to Sally Driscoll from, “Animal Experimentation,” “One controversial test commonly employed is the LD50, which measures the amount if toxicity something has or had.” According to Laura Finley also from, “Animal Experimentation,” “ Mice or rats could carry an illness while the scientists are experimenting on them. So, the scientists can skip over their illness and possibly put it into medicine.” Another way animals could die from this is if they have the medicine before we do, they could possibly get the illness. Luckily, the farmers or scientists would know what to do if the medicine kills
