Why We Should Do Extracurricular Activities After School

My principal has decided that students must do an extracurricular activity after school. Extracurricular activities are activities outside of school that kids choose to do. Typically these are activities that kids do to have fun. The principal of my school said that we are required to do an extracurricular activity after school. This requirement has an agreement and a disagreement side. Many parents and teachers agree with this side but there are other parents, students, and teachers who disagree. I am choosing to disagree because there are many reasons why there should be no extracurricular activity.

The first reason why I chose to disagree is because the students would struggle with this requirement for many different reasons. One struggle is that most students already have after school activities. Being a student myself I know this struggle because I go to gymnastics four days out of the five days of the school week. Usually, my practices start an hour after school. In this time I would need to get ready for gymnastics. The parents would be greatly impacted because they might have little ones that the older ones would normally have to watch and now if the older one has to do another activity after school than the younger kid has no one to watch them. Another reason having an extracurricular activity for student would effect the parents if their kid not having transportation. These kids not having transportation would mean they would not be able to participate or have someone else take their kid. The last reason this would impact the parent is that this could give them more stress. This would give them more stress because not knowing if their kid has a ride or having their younger kid not have someone to watch
