The definition of litter is trash that is left lying in an open or public place. Yet, why is it important not to litter? Littering pollutes the environment. As soon as a piece of trash touches the ground, it is considered litter. Since it doesn’t decompose, it doesn’t disappear until someone picks it up or it is washed into a body of water. While on land, innocent animals and children are at risk of picking up the litter, which may be life-threatening. Once litter is washed into a body of water, the marine life becomes threatened. Litter on land can easily be removed by someone picking it up; however, it isn’t removed from the water until a person cleanses the water of the antibody or it is absorbed somehow, such as by the animals.
We humans are selfish and only care about our needs. We have destroyed thousands of plants and animals with our impact. We have cut down many trees and used them as places for buildings. We have killed many animals for food for us to eat. As we keep on doing this we will be on the verge of a food and water disaster. This is bad for our earth, and we should start protecting it. Every year about one hundred to two hundred billion pounds of plastic are manufactured. Only 31% of that plastic is actually recycled. Biomass packaging estimates 10% of that plastic ends up in the ocean annually. Current research has brought to life the long-term developmental and biological challenges that abuse victims deal with long after an event occurs. A problem that current researchers face when striving to learn more about the long-term affects of child abuse is a lack of funds. Money drives a lot of things in this world, and research is one of those things. The current funds for this type of research has been spread very thin over numerous organizations that deal with child abuse. In this article, New Directions in Child Abuse and Neglect Research, new ideas for spreading these funds have been talked about and plans have been devised.
The topic of hunting has always been filled with controversy, excitement and trepidation for the environment. Both sides have varies ideas as to what is wrong and right. I realize that many people do not understand why people have to hunt or why people do hunt. One of the questions that kept coming to mind is why so many people are against hunting when their ancestors hunted and without hunting many of them would not be alive today.
