Why Is Lying Bad

Though people believe lying is bad, people still do it for many reasons. They do not wish to lie, but at times they will have to. That is also why people invented white lies. That way they can lie without feeling as bad about it. Furthermore if you do not lie you will lose many good life opportunities. You might also lose good friends if you do not lie.

First of all, lying is sometimes acceptable when it is done to protect someone mentally or physically. For example you can lie so someone does not get hurt. You can also lie if you do not want their feelings to be hurt. One way you can lie to protect someone is by lying to the person getting your friend in trouble. If your friend is being bullied you can lie to the bully to stop them.

Third of all, lying is also a moral duty for most people. Lying can be used to protect people from harm. Let’s say something bad will happen if someone goes to a certain area then you can lie so they do not go near there. You can do this by making up a rumor so they do not go close to it.
