It is my core principle belief that there exist no greater purpose in one single individual life that that of the fundamental duty to protect one another. From infancy we are taught that the soul duty of a parent is to protect their child. We see this, this love and devotion, daily as we grow into adulthood. Thus the necessity to protect, to lead and to guide those who do not yet have the means do so themselves, is an ethical responsibility that is born and engraved into our very being. Therefore, there cannot be a more self-fulling vocation than that of protecting, defending, and serving ones nation. This is especially true when such a nation was founded on the right and not the privilege of freedom to all. From birth, my life has been one of abundant opportunities. This was never more apparent than during my years at university while pursuing a degree in Anthropology. Through the study of and exposure to different countries and different cultures, I received first-hand knowledge of the advantages having been born in American citizen permitted me. Having the majority of my family members born not in this country, this wasn’t a completely new concept to me. However, I admittedly associated the preponderance of such on generational differences not cultural. I was taught to read, to write, I was able go to school, to play in sports, to graduate, to go to college, to work, and I was able to do all of these things despite my race, my religion, or my sex. My ancestors were not as lucky. As an Army officer I will be provided the unique opportunity to insure the same privileges at were permitted to me are provided to my fellow countryman and preserved for my future
