I was born to a mother name Kellie Edith .I lived in Akron Ohio my whole life. My mom always told me and my sibling’s education was importance to have if you want to be successful. Although my Father wasn’t around, I never wanted for anything. My mom made sure of that. That’s why I love her, she was always independent. For years I have prayed that God will find a way to put my missing pieces together. My parents tried to convince me to go to anger management for my behavior. I decided to go to Job Corps to better myself. My mother’s favor quotes to her kids was key to success is knowing that failing doesn’t make you a failure, so my child pickup your shoulder, never look back. I hold it in my mind all the time. My favorite movies are Love & Basketball, Beyond the Light. My favorite color is blue. My hobbies are basketball, playing video games. went to my second choice which was HBI. I have learned how to accept supervision better. I am showing concern for others more than normal, and I have met great people who I can really consider as mentors for me later in life. These people have changed me and helped me see the brighter things in life. I want to be a Crime Scene Investigator. I Chose this career because it's something I’ve always wanted to do. Getting to help people and giving them justice is what catch my eye. all my life I been talking about being a Crime Scene Investigator, so i'm going follow my dream. I have seen that being a criminal justice major is awesome, because the jobs that are associated with a criminal justice major are really interesting to me. Being a criminal justice major has been something that I have wanted to do since I was watching crime TV shows when I was a little kid. These shows had most of my interest and the character that I would love to be is obviously the lead detective. I have always wanted to be the one who caught the break in the case that eventually led to the apprehension of the person that committed the crime. That is why I watched shows like Monk, Criminal Minds, Psych, etc. Basically if the show had crime in it and there were people trying to catch the criminal I was most likely glued to the TV. There have also been a lot of issues surrounding the criminal justice field that I find interesting. Some of these issues have touched on whether or not law enforcement should monitor cities’ more closely, due to the recent attacks on U.S. soil. The major that I have decided to go with seems to really fit me and I am anxious to start learning more about this field, and I am glad that I am not going to have to be on the front lines. I want to be a forensic accountant because I know it will always interest me throughout life. I am glad that I will not be surrounded by the tension that comes with respecting citizen rights and cops overstepping their boundaries between laws and respecting citizens’ rights.
I have always taken an interest in Criminal Justice and crime prevention ever since middle school and I set out to make my career goal to become a Criminal Justice professional. Thus, pursuing a Criminal Justice master’s degree has been a part of my plans for the future and will become one of my core focuses that I will set up in my graduate studies. It will also enable me to become a more competent working professional and encourage me to advance towards the doctoral program.

As a systematic power position, the role of the correctional officer is an apparatus embodying control within county jails, state prisons, federal and private prisons. This mechanism of law enforcement has acquired procedures, policies, duties and tasks in order for the correctional facility to operate efficiently. Not only do correctional officers serve as a key functional component in the prison complex, they serve the inmates to further their rehabilitation and punishment when and if needed. Last year I started to think about what I wanted to do with my life career wise I knew it would be in the criminal justice system in some form, I have always had a fascination with the felid. When I would watch television, I would take note of jobs that seemed interesting to me and look them up later or just google careers but one started to stand out to and it was being a corrections officer. There are quite a few steps it takes to be a correctional officer from getting a position to being a recruit to graduation.
I have learned what it means to serve and what it means to be content and trust God. I have learned what it means to be grateful even through the hard times. My relationship with god really has improved since my experience in Tecate, and I will be forever grateful for that door that God opened in my life. Over the trip I had the pleasure of living among and working with the men and women of the orphanage. The boys and girls taught me much more than I ever expected, what it means to be positive, get through hard times. The relationships I made may not still be in tact today but the marks they left on me, and who I am as a person still remain. I am forever changed for good because of the people I met at small orphanage in Tecate
There are a lot of people that specialize in different fields. The field I would love to specialize is Criminal Justice. Criminal Justice is a very important field that is always in need of people to study in. The reason why our field is in need in the community is because of the constant rise of crime, criminals, and habitual offenders. The reason why I would love Criminal Justice is because I would love to give back to my community, the lack of law enforcement, and also make a change to the field and the offices of law enforcement.

I would like to be a police community support officer because I want to further my opportunities to work for a police department and support the communities in which I live. I feel I can serve my community in a positive manner with the upmost respect and honor. I hope I will be able to gain valuable experience that will help me in my future, both as an individual and as a professional. This opportunity will help give me an insight to the internal workings for the town of Plainfield and the opportunity to learn more about the individuals that live within the community. I have a passion to help other when they are in need, that is a reason why I want to pursue a career in law enforcement.
Many of my goals have been met through my hard work and dedication through my mother's constant pressure to do well in school. To give a clear example of what I mean, there was the time that I got Principal's Honor Roll. In order to get Principal’s Honor Roll I had to work very hard and maintain a G.P.A of 4.0 or above with no U’s or fails. Many times, I had to sacrifice going to parties, hanging out with friends to do my homework just to study for a test. Many times, I had to stay up very late to finish an assignment or study. My hard work allowed me to meet my goal of getting Honor Roll. If I didn’t work hard and dedicated myself into pursuing to get Principal’s Honor Roll I would have probably never got it. This has impacted me in a very positive way because I know that in order to obtain what I want I have to work hard, dedicate myself, and commit myself to that goal. My grades are another great example of my hard work and dedication. If I didn’t work hard to obtain all A’s , I would have probably never have got a 4.0 G.P.A. in my report card and would not get the Principal’s Honor Roll award. Although it is not the most “eye-opening” experience, my semester off from college is my biggest motivator for being in the AmeriCorps. I took a semester off from college after not knowing what it was I wanted to do after graduation, and during that time, I tried getting out of my comfort zone and got more involved with my family, friends, and community as well as doing some reflection. I picked up photography again after not doing it for almost year and started volunteering as a reading tutor for an elementary school. I even started babysitting more, although that was unintentional.
What should we do in life? That always seems to be the question. Life is not guaranteed to be easy, never turning out the exact way that we want it to. A lot of people work hard to achieve their dreams of making a massive amount of money and having more than a seven percent return on their 401k plan. Truth is, life is not about the amount of money that we have saved up, it is about what we do to make a difference and how we will make our lifetime worth it. Something that people should set into place is a plan for their future. A plan that would help not only directs their path in life, but the paths of those around them too.
