Have you ever wanted to do something so badly that you reach a point where the amount of work required for it no longer maters as long as you eventually get where you want to be? Whether it be something such as perusing a career or meekly finishing a book. In all honesty, for me that feeling of accomplishment once you finally get there is simply amazing. Nonetheless, one must remember to enjoy their journey towards their goals. Soren Kierkegaard, a Danish philosopher, stated “Most men pursue pleasure with such breathless haste that they hurry past it.” Mr. Kierkegaard’s words remind us all to keep moving forward, yet not to forget why we’re doing anything at all. I was a member of many clubs, organizations and programs around my school. I spent most of my free time involved within my school, I always had something to do. However, my favorite pastime was definitely my school tech club. Tech Club was my school theater crew, we did anything and everything that you could possibly imagen. There were many different sections within the club; thus, allowing students to support wherever they were more fascinated. When I first joined as a freshmen I quickly developed a passion for it. I spent my next two years in high school learning as much as I could about each individual department. Nonetheless, in my eyes the most prestigious position was being a stage manager. From the minute I joined tech I knew I wanted to eventually become a stage manager. They were in chare of absolutely everything that would happen on and off the stage. That year’s musical was “Legally Blond.” Everyone already new Andrea Salazar, last year’s stage manager, would be one of two lucky people. Because of my continuing commitment and dedication, Andrea spoke with the club’s director, Mr. Alloway, and recommended me to be her right hand man. I was honored to hear the great news and could hardly contain myself. I had an extremely high level of respect for both of them, therefore knowing that they trusted me with this position meant awful lot to me. At this point in time everyone knew their title role for the show and we immediately began working. My team would work night and day getting everything ready for opening night. Andrea and I knew the play like the balk of our hand and were prepared for everything. Time flew by quickly, and before we knew it the date we had been practicing for had finally arrived. Both the crew and cast were extremely nerves. Subsequently, our very first show was a complete success and we only had minor issues that arouse.
